    Urgent help Required Please

Guys am a little lost with this problem and its bloody annoying considering am in Germany near Trier and feel theres fxxk all I can do at the moment!! The central locking/alarm is playing up from my key fob on the S2 (yes brave enough to take it on the continent!!) and now the key fob playing up whats helped in the last few days is discontenting the battery completely for 5 minutes and then everything works as it should but now that's not happening and when I connect everything back up the bloody alarm is just going off all the time - Any suggestions what I can do as a quick fix until I get back into the UK please - kind of panicking at the moment as the car is isn't fully locked and in the morning it wont be driveable MANY thanks in advance

Have you got a little round key on your fob. It's usually around say 8mm in diameter with a small drive tang. It's often possible to turn off the audio part of the alarm at the box, (usually under the bonnet).
You might be able to use something other than the key as they're usually fairy basic.

        Is it OEM?
Just cost the light flashes on the fob, doesn't mean its working properly. First thing I'd do is change the battery in the fob
Worst case cut the power to the siren, wait for the battery to run out and unlock manually.

Are you saying the alarm sounds but the car runs without cutting out OR the alarm sounds and the car won't run?

The audio can be turned off for most alarms. If you find the box there's a good chance you'll find the little key hole.

sorry Andy I didn't try either as there were a restaurant full of people staring at me lol!! All I know at the moment is the alarm will sound as soon as I connect the battery back up so I have left it disconnected and will try again in the morning

You will be able to unplug the siren from the alarm/immob harness. Do that first to shut the thing up. Then reconnect the battery and see if you can start the car. If the worst comes to the worst, its actually really easy to remove a Cat1
At the very least, you only need some cable cutters and some tape. Ideally butt crimps though.

Seriously though, I would try a new battery in the fob first of all.

i Had this with my Clifford Alarm it was the back up battery in the siren dying and leaking into the internals. I just cut the cable until I could get a new siren.

If I cut the cable to the siren that would solve the noise but what about the immobiliser would that not be affected?

As Error has said, get a new battery into your fob. The existing battery when it is on it's last legs, will still have enough power to light the led, but not have enough power to turn off the alarm. Try pressing the remote when it is very close to the box / brain that controls the alarm as it might turn it off when it is closer and it's transmission range is reduced because of the failing battery in the remote.

But really you need to get a new battery for the remote before you cut any wires to the siren, or phone the AA.

If your luck is in, a new battery for the remote control unit could solve the issue. You'll never know until you get one !

                        Best of luck.

First off shut the siren up by disconnecting it - this means you can play with the thing for as long as you want and not get stressed out whilst pissing everyone else off!

Next see if the car starts even with the alarm going off, this will give you an indication as to where the problem lies and mean you're not stranded worst case scenario!

If the car doesn't start it'll be the immobiliser so try replacing the battery.

If it does start it'll be the stock alarm playing up which is common on mine. With the alarm going off put the key in the door and lock it which should engage the central locking, then unlock. I find this sometimes takes a few goes turning the key all the way to the right to get it to work.
