Yesterday Darren (Brother of Leigh - lcsmith) collected my old Coupe quattro (effectionately named "HICCUP") after buying it in July, it seems a long time ago that he agreed to buy it, but it only really sinks in when you see someone else drive it down the street with a friendly honk of the horn.

Although im sad to see it go after all these years, i couldn't be happier with where it's going. Darren sounds like he has great plans for it and is no longer planning on using it as a donor, he wishes to get her looking her best ever!

I popped a brand new MOT on it last week, and today they begin a road trip from South Wales up to Aberdeen where they'll board a ferry to Shetland. And later on this week Darren has booked the coupe in for a full prep and respray

I hope that we'll all get to see pics of the progress pop up on here soon...

He's in Aberdeen

Was in Stirling at 8.00am this morning, he woke up at 1.00am wide awake with the jet lag so thought **** it he might as well set off.

He's absolutely delighted with it, he says he filled it up before he left Chepstow last night and did 400 miles to the tank and was filling it up at Stirling this morning.

I will post pics once we get it back from paint.

He was a bit disappointed that he wasn't feeling able to go for a few beers with you last night but I suppose thats the joys of jetlag.....

Glad to hear that its not getting broken and is going to be cherished, I'm sure you are sad to see it go but as they on to bigger and better (with more complicated electrics! )

He reckons once he got it into 6th gear when he got on the motorway he changed gear twice all the way to Stirling!

Never missed a beat, he says it solid on the road, it just feels like a brand new car.....

Nah, im pleased with where its gone. The next step for that car was definitely to sort the bodywork, and im not sure when i would have got round to that. So the new owner is definitely carrying the project onwards.
