    That time of year again!!!

Yeap its come to that lovely time of year again when the damn car insurance is due on all 3 cars with Admiral and surprise surprise the renewals have come in more expensive than what they advertise on moneysupermarket.com!! Why or why do they treat loyalty like this? Here's my quotes:

    S2 - renewal came at £194.05
    online Admiral came at £183.38
    cheapest quote came at £119.97

    A4 Quattro - renewal came at £236.86
    online Admiral came at £183.38
    Cheapest quote came at £165.97

    A4 2L TDI - renewal came at £284.09
    online Admiral came at £259.70
    Cheapest quote came at £223.97

There's some considerable savings to be had if you shop around but a multi car policy should be competitive!

Who else has had similar experiences and I bet it annoys the life out of you to!!lol

I feel for you. Sadly it is no surprise. Loyalty means nothing to the insurance world (Or many other sellers to be honest)

You just have to shop around and do it online and end up with various policies which you have to manage yourself. £120 for the S2 is brilliant. Makes my £200 policy look costly. Actually I think it went up because I went on one of those driving courses and Elephant hold it against you. Best not get me started on that.

Yes been there too Anthony with Admiral multicar policy that ended 2 years ago.Quotes came in higher as per usual so we shopped around on the comparison sites and found insurance much cheaper. So it definitely pays to say up yours to the Admiral multicar policy which is supposed to make it cheaper and go elsewhere. We did and don't regret it for one minute!!!!!!

Another case of Rip of britain Which is incidentally the most expensive country in the world to live in (because of House prices and rent) and has the most unequal society anywhere in the world. We are ok with just 4 years to go on a tiny mortgage but god help all the younger people who haven't a chance to get on the housing ladder or pay rent. As mator would say "Ok i'm done".

Don't you just phone them, tell them you have cheaper quotes and they match it? I have Bern doing this for years especially with Adrian Flux and they nearly always drop their initial price to keep the business...

Did that steve and Admiral just said can't help so the phone call we made asking for a better quote felt like a slap in the face and an insult to one's intelligence.Never again!!!!!!!! Much happier now anyway.

the more named drivers on the policy makes it cheaper (as long as they are non mechanics and clean licence) i put my missus on the S2 and it was cheaper (she isn't and doesn't want to drive it)

I am the same. I was staggered to find that the course added to my premium. Evidently Elephant and Admiral (same comp/underwriters) are the only insurers to increase premium for attending driver awareness course. I asked what the rise would be had I taken the points/fine and it wasn't much more. Obviously the course was nearly £100 whereas the points would only have been £60 but by not taking the points, you keep a little more distance between freedom and licence loss.

Even with the added premium for the course, Elephant were still cheaper than the next best on price comparison sites. Shame, I really wanted a baby oleg toy.

They have absolutely no way of checking whether you've been on a course or not.

Admiral Group have always made their own rules up and continue to do so.

can we hear who the companies are that provide you lot with a decent quote, please. i'm on my third mileage hike on the s6, the initial being a 3000 mile policy at around £260. everytime i hit the next 3000 mile mark it costs me another £80 to re-insure it to the next 3000 mile mark!!

I often wondered about these 'trade policies' - are they viable for people registered as a 'sole trader' or only for limited companies... does the policy holder have to be a director or just an employee ?
