Halfords Industrial Tool Chests

Professional is 20kg/drawer.

Industrial is 40kg/drawer.

Cheap tool boxes dont tend to open great once you have them loaded up, good ones are silky smooth even when full of tools.

20Kg is a lot of spanners! I've had that 7 drawer top box for 10+ years and it's still going strong. For a hobby mechanic these are fine, if you're a pro using them all day every day, maybe not

Usually when they are already on offer the trade card does not get you any more off, I have one though so I will be trying!

What did you guys do to get a trade card?

I keep eye balling the ratchet and spanner set for the boot of the car, but dont really want a pile of AF stuff.

The **** just fell out the chest of drawers I use for air tools, welding tools and power tools, so I guess Halfords cabinets it is! I think I will try the Pro one as it has more deep drawers which should suit bulky tools.

Unfortunately when I unboxed them when I got home it became clear bottom box had been squashed, enough to stop the top drawer opening.



So drawers out, block a jack and then a little push

I rang Halfords today to see if they would swap the top 7 drawer chest for their 9 drawer chest, which is only £10 more when buying them separately, said I'd pay the extra tenner. "Not our policy to alter special offers"... Jeez...

Well, I went to Halfords in Merthyr got the 10% off, then cos the top 3 little drawers didn't lock with the rest drawers in the top chest when the lid was down they gave me another £25 off. £199, bargain!

So it's the 3 piece 'Professional' set for £249 or the 2 piece 'Industrial' set for £299. Sod it I'm off to Halfords tomorrow to see them in person and see what the real differences are...
