Insuring a classic car durring transportation.

I'm picking up a classic car of reasonably high value soon, it's not taxed or MOT'd but is in good mechanical condition.

I've hired a beaver tail single car transporter for the job which includes insurance on the transporter and any third party risks. However what I'm carrying will not be covered for theft or malicious damage etc.

I'm going to get on the case in morning and make some phone calls but I thought it would be worth asking on here in case someone has any pointers.

Give Carole Nash a call, I had my classic bike insured with them before it was taxed and MOT'd

I looked into this with the coupe it might apply here

Get chassis number insurance from the imported car insurance experts. Temporary cover available.

Good luck with it all kit but if your with your car all the time why would you need theft or criminal damage cover?

Cheers Mark, however I won't be able to be with the car all time and the car itself is not covered if it falls of the transporter or if I get crashed into, when your talking north of £10K it's not a risk I want to take.

John and Eric, I'll look into both those options tomorrow

Actually this looks very promising, especially as the best quote for a conventional classic policy on-line is from them, will try them first thing tomorrow
