    Golf Mk1 24,000 Miles

Mate at work has one he wants to sell, what's it worth?

All I know is, it's a Mk1, very good condition, always garaged, 24,000 miles ( I think, 20 something anyway)

Anyone want it or know someone? Or know what sort of money he should be asking?

I guess I need more info too.

Small bumper? Swallow tail? If it's a swallow tail then it's not worth much and I'll send him the money right now.

In all seriousness I'm always on the lookout for a decent mk1 golf so definitely interested. Pm me a number and some details if you can.

I had no clue about the "Swallow Tail" Mk1s. Not sure if we got any in Canada. Anyway, I found this website that explains the swallow tail. Personally, I like the non-swallow tail. (Never had a Mk 1 Golf/Rabbit but I did have a Mk 1 (and Mk 2) Jetta which I liked a lot) (Had the Mk 2 for 21 years).

My mate had a swallow tail mk 1. He broke it for parts for various reasons and that panel alone sold for over £350! I think the bonnet is a slightly different shape too on those

So big bumpers and no swallow tail. Still at 27,000 miles, it should be mint.

Remember that 1.1 is the one with the wrong engine mount (:
Which means that a "fun" engine sawp require that you move the engine mount in the passanger side
