Wasn't Audi Tradition created in direct response to the vocal frustrations and criticisms from enthusiasts the world over at Audi's abysmal support for classic cars when compared to Porsche, BMW and Mercedes?

They addressed the problem by creating a slow and unreliable e-commerce web site that offers parts at greatly inflated prices and some re-manufactured parts of inferior quality than the original items.

Then there's the parts that were readily available through the dealer network until Audi Tradition bought them all at heavily discounted prices to increase their inventory count and give customers the impression they have sourced items that are no longer available.

It's utterly perverse to think that they have actually made access to these parts more restrictive if anything.

Owning a classic Audi is difficult and frustrating enough.

      Audi sucks.
      I've bought an E30 , 1600 cm3 engine and will be switcing to 2800 cm3 engine.
I've bought the running gear from a 2500 cm3 E30 and I bought everything new. Bushes, calipers repair kit, hundred of screws, I mean everything new on the running gear!
I've bought everything from the part supplier (no bmw classic shop or whatever) and many of the parts where OEM parts.
      Everything was delivered.
      Prices were OK.

          Dear Audi Tradition,

I am an Audi enthusiast and I own many Classics Audis.
I am also part of many online forums, the most important one for me is s2forum.com
There are 2 things that I want to tell you and this is not only my own frustration but also the frustration of other old Audi enthusiasts.
          1) Your website is very poor. It loads so badly. Looking for parts is so hard, you have to literally browse an entire category of parts to search of the thing you want. Your website also brings error messages all the time and at that point you have to close the browser, delete cookies and start over.
On behalf of me and my follow old Audi enthusiasts we ask you to please update your website and make it user friendly and bug free.
          2) Please make more parts available for Audi B2 cars.
          Especially optical parts.
It is so frustrating that you have parts available for B2 cars but the most important parts - the optical ones are not available.
          For example:
          - you don't have headlights for the left side
          - you don't have grills for the front bumper
          - you don't have fog lights for the front bumper
          - you don't have turn signals lights for the front bumper
          -you don't have lateral trims
          -etc

Please try to understand that if you have even a minor crash the front of the car will get damaged and those parts important to us but you don't have them available.

We are working so hard keeping this cars on the road but you have to do your part as well and make sure the most vital parts are available.

If we can do something on our end to make you start producing some other parts, let me know. If you need signatures of people wanting those parts, if you need a minimum order of parts, just let us know. But we beg you to start producing those parts.

          With kind regards,

          Their response:

          Dear Mr. Bratu,

          Thank you for your message.

Of course we always attempt to extend the inventory of discontinued spare parts as quickly as possible.

Due to the diversity in the range of Audi models we cannot guarantee that every possible spare part will be available in our
inventory in the future. Thank you for your understanding.

You also mentioned the performance of the website www.s2forum.com. Please understand that this website is not part of the AUDI
AG and therefore we are not responsible for any problems that you experience with this website.

Dear Mr. Bratu, in case of any further questions and future inquiries about the availability of spare parts at our Audi
tradition shop, our team will gladly assist you. Please use the contact form which you can find on our website under "contact".

          Sincerely yours

I know "Tradition" is where the "old" parts go to graze. I recently purchased items that are NLA in NA and was happy to still be able to purchase these through Tradition. They may not be perfect to deal with but they are not a busy consumer site I know. I do hope the site does improve but then again... must keep UrS6 alive!! Ordering (although clunky) and shipping has been "top notch"!!

not sure about rs2, but I have found crossref to BOSCH code to my oem sensor for 200 20v (oem are still available but they are a bit pricey). Must be same thing except missing vag code. Produced buy bosch anyways.

Maybe the same thing in RS2? Just my two cents, not familiar with the model.

just a heads up - i've posted up on Classic Audi to see if their experience/frustration is the same as ours and whether we can work together to lobby Audi UK or someone in Audi Tradition to sort this mess out.

Lets see if our voice is heard if its a little louder and coordinated

Might also be one we could enlist Audi Driver's help to raise the profile of this...?

Frankly, we all deserve a better service than this

I have no idea how they make $$ on shipping, two big boxes of body panels (in a special van) and only 45 Euro to ship... wish all plonkers from Germany would charge that much to ship their crap.

                              Hello,

                              There is a confusion.
I was not talking about the performance of the website s2forum.
I was talking about the performance of your website - Audi Tradition. Your website Audi Tradition is very poor. It loads very hard and often it crashes, giving error messages and they you have to start over.
s2forum.com is a website full of people just like me who love old Audi cars and we are big and strong community, International Community and we all feel that you , AUDI, are not doing your job to help us maintain our cars on the road.
I have been watching for external Audi B2 optical parts (front bumper grills, front headlights, lateral trims, front fog lights, etc) on your website for years already. And nothing came up.

I feel like you don't understand my concerns.
I was saying that you should start building some external optical parts of Audi B2 chassis.
Or maybe let us know what do we have to do , write a letter to Audi, get signatures, make a minimum order, etc - in order for your to convince to start making some specific parts.

Please help me out because your previous email doesn't help me at all. You just said the obvious.

Can you recommend me to the person who is authorized to make new Audi Tradition Parts?

Everything I wrote in the email above is my opinion and the opinion of very many Audi vintage cars owners. Please help us out.

                              Kind Regards,

                              Comment

                                Their reply:

                                Dear Mr. Bratu,

                                Thank you for your reply.

The AUDI AG is always very interested in receiving feedback on how our customers relate to our products and services. However,
the fact that every internet user sets his own preferences how a presentation should be designed offers a wide space for
                                discussion.

We assure you that we are constantly undertaking all efforts to optimise the performance of the Audi web site taking our
customers' wants and needs into consideration. Please understand that although we are willing to make compromises where
necessary - it is not always possible to meet every single requirement.

Your message has been forwarded to the department in charge so that your comments will be taken into account for further
                                modifications as well.

Of course we understand your frustration about the missing availability of spare parts for your vehicle. The Audi Tradition
online shop is primarily a shop that sells still existing spare parts.

Please understand that it is not in our power to decide which spare parts are reproduced.

We are very sorry that we cannot give you any other information and we hope for your understanding.

                                Sincerely yours
