Has 2 issues with them not turning up for collection/delivery and not leaving a card at 2 separate addresses in to different areas. They then lie that they called and in one instance they then cancelled the service.
AVOID them and use something like UPS through interparcel or parcel2go, as they are at least on the whole reliable and professional.
YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED...

And do not buy Yodel services either. Never turn up when they say they will and the next day delivery service is always at least 3 days late. And then when you phone up to claim back some compensation for the next day delivery that cos more to book in the first place they say no.
Indeed avoid Yodel as well, had a parcel sent via PostNL and got a message from the buyer that it had not been delivered and he never had "you were not home message". When I called PostNL the parcel was already on it's way back to me
It got there in the end by sending it again and making clear it may not be returned to sender.
Now I'm at it PostNL ain't faultless either. They break the goods that were sent insured then ask you to and the buyer to fill in a couple of forms, after that they let me wait 5 months! and then just say "the addressee did not complete the forms and you won't get any money" Needless to say the buyer did everything he was told to
It seams all the services have underperformed including UPS.They mucked me around saying i could drop of a 15" 90 20v wheel and tyre at the drop of point which then said no it's too large. After an argument in the off license with the vendor who refused to take my paid for job UPS said i should take it to another drop of point.I told them to poke it it's not the service i paid for and wasn't prepared to drive another 10 miles roundtrip. When i got home i screamed down the phone to UPS and a van came round to pick the wheel up going to Holland. UPS were cheaper than any one else though.

Yodel throw stuff over our gate, it's a shared drive so it's pure luck no one has driven over something, or they refuse to leave with a neighbour.
UKMail broke an item of mine recently and didn't tell me or the seller for a week.
TBH they are all terrible and just don't care. Drivers are rewarded for a quick route by being able to go home and it's quicker to leave a note than actually ring your door bell.
Very few have depots that are easy to get to or open outside of normal working hours.
Given the increase in online shopping there is a genuine opportunity for a good service to work. How about deliveries from 5pm to 9pm for an extra small charge. Saves cards and Saturday morning queues somewhere.
Like most things we try to do in this country it's a bit rubbish and no focus on the customer at all.

Agreed with all of that and sadly this part."Like most things we do in this country it's a bit rubbish and no focus on the customer at all."
Customers don't figure just profits and there is no such thing as Integrity when things go wrong in many a big business anymore.

I think the postal services are only a part of this, but its the modern way of hitting targets and elitist fool managers- all the pressure put on the drivers is going to cause bad service and problems..
They could employ more drivers and have a laid back approach which allows customer care, but instead some hot shot accountant tells some promotion keen manager that halving the amount of drivers and doubling their roll will turn more profit.
Every firm seems to be at this and general customer care and quality of items is going right down.
APC are good, they have recently changed their size limits though which is annoying as you used to be able to send pretty much anything.
Refuse to use Sh1ttylink as they could never be bothered to find us! Consistently terrible service.
Generally everything couriered needs to be packed so that someone could throw it down some stairs and it would survive.
In every courier company there is one of these people:
Not used APC but heard good things. Colesy, City link went bust last year. They were perfect for me, could send large baulky heavy items for a much better price than parcel force or anyone else. The youtube clip just about sums it up!!

I did hear that, but I hate them so much that I'm going to moan about them long after they are dead!
I recently stayed home for a delivery only to find the card through the door - definitely no knock - for two separate deliveries... I think it was ipostparcels or something like that. The only positive was that the local depot put the parcel aside and let me pick it up late that evening rather than wait till the next day.
I think they're all as bad as each other - I continue to use them despite the above because they are cheap and convenient to drop off after hours, plus take the odd sizes.
UPS are quicker than Parcel Ar#e too
I've used P4D for big stuff
Amazing to see the difference in prices for UPS from different sites
I also use Trans Global express. They were about £5 cheaper for something than through parcel2go
