Mrs rj scotty wants a range rover

What she actually wants is a Range Rover sport but as I have pointed out I would like to wear my hair in a pony tail, we cant always get what we want

What we have been looking at is the Range Rover P38's

Needs to be a diesel an she would prefer a manual but I have pointed out that most of these are Auto so she may have to bend on that point.

I know there are loads of Knowledgeable people on here so figured somebody must have some insight on if these are any good and what to look out for.

Not looking for a stunner, this will be a hard used daily. Budget approx 4K for the right one but cheap fixer uppers are welcome.

Thought and opinions please.

Most people in the P38 know refer to these as "sick notes", I'd swerve just about as far as you can possible go from one of these, they are an absolute money pit and build quality is not good, wiring nightmares a plenty!!

The bmw 2.5 tdi is a good reliable engine in the P38. P38's suffer from air suspension faults and electrical faults especially immobiliser faults. As others have said buy a Jap 4x4.

A4 platform has crap rear legroom, A6 worth a look for sure

I have a '99 Land Cruiser Colorado SWB, it's amazing, so much better than the Defender and Disco I owned previously.

Mrs GT500 has a V10 Touareg. Bye bye range pig is often the heard whilst out.
