Could it be the one that goes to the ECU?

Diff controller and vacuum res. it will be a boost leak and the car will go into limp mode.

The pink hose should go to the rear diff lock system. A green plastic hose should go to the ECU, not pink.

                REFERENCE: http://www.s2-audi.co.uk/tech_articl...ecu_faults.htm

Typically this means a boost leak. Most common spot on a 3B/ABY/ADU seems to be the rubber boot right at the throttle body:

Do a boost leak test as Dave says.

Yes, boost leak test! and check the pipe routing, the pink should be difflock, the green to ECU.

Have you got a boost gauge?
