Can anyone help, I need some info, Please.
I recently bought the wife the above, but yesterday it disgraced itself.
She opened the roof to drive home, but once back at the house, it would'nt close. The cover lifts 2 or 3 inches then stops. No obvious sound from the motor, and it did this maybe 3 times, then nothing. We closed the roof manually, and locked it with the 'T' key, but now the warning light is flashing on the dash, and the boot will only open with the key.
According to some of the blogs I have read, the roof can be reset by doing a full Open/Close manual cycle which will then (hopefully) also reset the boot lid. Why would the electric roof affect the boot lid switch??
Anyway, assuming that this works, I then need to find the cause of the original fault, which (again, according to some of the blogs I have read) appears to be likely to be a Hydraulic Pump motor fault (hopefully power supply, or brushes seized in their housings). If this is the base fault, and the pump/motor isn't running, then is it possible that the 2 or 3 inches movement of the cover is due to residual pressure in the reservoir. which is now depleted?
Thanks for reading, and if anyone has come across this before- I would love to hear how it was resolved
