I have to admit as I stuck to permitted development rules. My attitude was I was replacing a stable and the garage is far more in keeping. My neighbour was happy as its a cat slide roof so lower at the border wall and not as wide as the old stable. I live 2 miles up a country lane and .5 of a mile up a private track so there's no one to offend. It's certainly far better than the stable that stood before..
It's nice to have the coupe back.

Don't know which trade was one of the unreliables? but i think your roofer has done an excellent job.Just look at the detail on the verges, the undercloak is set right and he's detailed the mortar with the tiling in the heritage style which follows the styling of your beautiful garage correctly! The only slight fly in the ointment i can see,we do like perfection on the S2 forum,
is the shiplap on the gable end,you could haver bought longer lengths but when you can't because they're out of stock at least stagger the joins instead of putting them in a line towards the back. A Pro wouldn't have done that. Looking forward to seeing it with the doors on. Your garage looks stunning. beer:

I should of pointed that out my roofer was the exception to that rule. The weatherboard was supplied and that was the longest lengths. I did it myself. I considered staggering the joints but would require putting in another couple of uprights in the gable end. I'm quite happy with it and it all worked to plan..Comment

Cheers Alex. The wife wasn't happy as it meant I could indulge my car and mountain bike habit. However it adds value and tidied the house up. That was my sales pitch anywayComment
