My "Go Too" tools for removing stuck C/V joints from flanges.
Hit the side of the C/V joint not the flange. The brass will cushion the blow & prevent damage. BTW, I did name the hammer "Thor" when purchased years back.
HTH, Chris
I must have been lucky. Did not need any major measured to get them off. Just a rubber hammer for a few taps around the shaft. What ever you do don't break a flange.

Hope this drawing will help.
As stated the idea is to separate the cv from the drive flange.
In order to do this one needs to drive the CV in the correct direction - out .
The drawing shows (tries to show) two notches, 180 degrees apart or opposite each other on the CV. I See your cv has a raised ridge so a notch just ahead of it will help give some purchase for a stone chisel.
So grind a step in the CV like indicated in the sketch, into which the stone chisel can gain some purchase so when it is hit it will drive the CV out of the flange.
2 hits on one side and rotate prop to do 2 hits on the opposite side etc.
Finally its been separated During last week when there was no work for us both me and vdt had a go on the prop shaft again , taking in account what people have said on what to use to get it off firstly we used a bit of wood that didn't help as it kept moulding round the flange , so in the end the best tool was a cold chisel and club hammer thanks for the comments everyone on this thread now to dismantle the whole rear axle and get it all sent off for shot blasting and powder coating Happy days
