    3B into a C4 or B3 Saloon???

Right first off I still exist, just been battling various medical and personal problems for the first quarter of this year, anyway my head doctor has suggested I get back on here as my passion for old Audi's is still kindling in the background. My emigration plans have been put on the back burner due to complications from the fall I took at work which will require surgery to correct. Though I'm considering moving to somewhere remote in Scotland instead, I love the far north and west coast so I've been looking into that. I'm no hippy but I hate with a passion the age we seem to be blindly walking into. Sure mobile phones are great but I don't see the need to broadcast ones every waking move to the world via the various applications that encourage such activity. Every time I see someone photograph their food in a restaurant I want to punch them and I certainly don't need some unit in my house that orders food etc for me. I'm also quite capable of adjusting my own lighting and heating.

So a highly belated happy new year to anyone I missed via PM.

I've loads of PM's to catch up with so please bare with me.

Anyway I have something of a conundrum....

I have all the parts to build a monster I5 engine.

A really nicely flowed crack free 3B cylinder head with matched flowed 3B inlet (also got an AAN IM and pipe work)

A rebuilt bottom comprising forged rods and fresh bearings from Andy10V, I need to whip the sump off and give it a health check but I'm sure it'll be fine given the effort Andy put into it.

A choice of exhaust manifolds ranging from RS2 to tubular, can go K26 or T3 flange.

Turbo wise I'll be sticking with good old KKK units, I have various K26/7 hybrids and a couple of straight K27's including a twin scroll.

The big question is do I stick it in my B3 Saloon and go light weight or do I install it into my one of my C4's which are built like tanks and super comfy.

Just to clarify I have a metallic Blue 1992 2.8 12V 100 estate in nice condition and a Red 1997 30V Saloon which met unceremoniously (at walking pace) with the back of a Landrover during a foolish lapse in concentration, I may as well have hit a wall.

I've just recently picked up another complete Red 2.6 C4 A6 to fix the one I bumped mildly before Christmas which gives me all the parts I need to fix my 30V A6 as well as harvest for spare's for both my C4's.

The B3 makes a great hack with it poxy 2.0 engine and I have all sorts of fancy B3 parts including coil-overs, forged wishbones, every poly bush required a late V6 Cab quick steering rack and a host of other stuff. Plus it's super stealth.

The C4 30V is a rare care but as it's now had a thump do I pull that motor out and effectively make a 3B URS4?

This isn't a project I'm going to dive into I have a host of VW's and spares to dispose of first, plus my RS2 to keep me occupied, just thought I'd see what other members would do.

What car to put it in wouldbe your personal choise. But my vote goes to b3. Maybe because I own one myself. But small cars with a lot of power sound like great fun.

yeah, what they said. But only if you aren't willing to do something properly legendary, like sticking it into a beetle or a split screen camper!
I think everyone's different but after all the work you'll put in I reckon you'd want to be in a light B3 saloon, scaring the crap out of people. If you want comfortable stay on the sofa

Good to hear you're still alive and ranting matey. If you want to move to the north of Scotland shoot me an email and I'll see if I can hook you up with family there. depends how remote you want to go. Is the Isle of Lewis too far? Or do you want to stay on the same bit of rock as now?

Ps - please punch anyone in the face who takes a photo of their food. I believe no decent judge would convict you.

My B3 90Q only has 275bhp but is an absolute hoot and is actually quite comfy too as I only lowered it with springs, the rest is standard....
I can imagine an extra 100 ish on top would be well scary as they are so light...

Keep the 30V for your 'old' moments

Good to see you back at it

                      Hi Kit,

Not on Facebook so I'm assume that's why the above is a bolt from the blue.

I know I'm nosey, but it's like some of us on here are 'friends' of a kind. Just curious why the emigration and what fall ?

Do not answer either unless you feel fully comfortable as it is a 'public' forum.

Best wishes with your future living and car plans for 2017 and beyond.

                      Kindest regards.

Glad to see you back Kit - great idea to 'emigrate' a bit closer than Canada! (NW Scotland has same ancient rocks)
Disagreeing with all of the above chaps- I'd reccommend a big power all purpose wagon for the Highlands- you'll want the space and load capacity...plus comfy is good if you got injuries to look after!

Oh and come and put a nice fast I5 into one of my old Hiluxes for me, will you?

I had a b3 with an aby in last year (not much difference to 3b)
It went like stink. Handled and braked brilliantly
Looked a shed-fooled those that needed to be
                              I've also had urs4:6s
Comfy, if you're dead, pulled fairly well for the size
                              So as you're thankfully not dead-build a monster b3
