I never said you said that, i'm asking if you have any, because if you do surely thats double standards of the respect for copyrighting as you put it.

Again i never mention documention, read again "So your telling me that you own nothing personally that infringes on copyright in some way or form?"Originally posted by NuvoJamo, All my documentation is paid for. Do you think I would have raised this issue otherwise? I thought not.

I read your post, and I answered in the context of this thread. This thread is about technical documentation. Anyway to answer you explicit question, the answer remains NO.Originally posted by JamoAgain i never mention documention, read again "So your telling me that you own nothing personally that infringes on copyright in some way or form?"
Okay so in other words you have made up you mind that I am an intellectual thief irrespective of the fact that you know nothing about me or my values. You're full of it.Originally posted by JamoI hate people who take the moral high ground on one thing but will accept the samething for a different thing.
Please feel free to prove this. I await your reply with much anticipation.Originally posted by JamoI can guarentee that you have breached copyright laws at some time in your life.
Incidentally, if you choose to bring up a certain parts database into the mix don't bother. I bought it legally from a dealer which lost it's franchise.Last edited by Nuvo; 18 October 2005, 16:08.Comment

One word - Music?
Don't get me wrong, I am not looking to start a fight, I am just interested in the intellectual banter.

The majority of people think that one little copy here or there won't hurt anyone. It does, believe me. People that buy counterfeit goods think they are getting a bargain. I think these people are almost as bad as the peaople that peddle it. Whether people choose to believe it or not, they are funding organised crime.
I'm sure that you appreciate organised crime is not exactly a glamorous industry.
If you can afford something you wouldn't steal it would you? Why should media be any different? By virtue of it being intangible and copyable doesn't give anyone the right to steal it.

I could prove it quite easliy as you'd be surprised what breaks a copyright law in everyday life but the difference is i couldn't give a sh*t if you did or didn't.
And for your information i'm also from software business and also did development before moving to different sector.Comment

Guys this is getting WAY off topic now... I also work in the media industry with regards security issues - this is where I totally agree with Nuvo on the piracy thing.
It cracks me up - my 4yr old son has a 6yr old friend who was boasting that his Dad got him a copy of the new W&G movie on DVD. This was two weeks before it hit the cinemas in the UK. The quality was horrible as you can imagine... Behind that innocent kids copy of a plasticine movie is a criminally organised ring of hackers - linked to very undesireable individuals and organisations whose names we need not mention here. So YES piracy is a big problem and its not the innocent wee copy of this here and there that affects nobody.
What I shall do is try to take this matter up with Audi or the fledgling Audi owners club of clubs that is starting now to see what information can be legally shared in this regard. They may take a very hard line and so 'NO' or they may have some other ideas to let me and others share some of the vital information that will fundamentally keep the Audi S2 community rolling around the world.
I shall try - that is all I can do. Until then, all I can do is bring some of the mass of workshop info I have to meetings for others to see & use in a workshop.
Meantime - there may be some creative ways that I can use the information within the manuals without blatently ripping it - I have done some of that with the contents of S2 Central already, but there just isn't enough hours in the day for such manual effort !

not wanting to stir up anything here - but I don't think the dealership ever actually owns any rights over the software that manufacturers supply.Originally posted by NuvoIncidentally, if you choose to bring up a certain parts database into the mix don't bother. Normally the software developer owns the rights and rents out it's facilities to the dealerships for as long as their subscription remains active.
Thats how it worked when I worked within the Ford group and had accounts for all group brands. We certainly had no rights to sell on the software or the dongles.
I also own no pirated music. All hail me
