Well, we talked about it, here it is.
If you weren't at Castle Combe today, you won't know what this is all about, but if you were then, it was a very unfortunate day for a TT owner and a fairly bad day for Audi too.
The long and short of it is. Audi were hosting a very short auto test with some brand new S4's and anyone was allowed to enter to try and post the fastest time. The entry regulations were simply that you had to be over 21 and sign a disclaimer. Anyway it transpired that a lad we had been chatting to with an S2 had a couple of mates with him and that one of them had been out for a go and was only 16! This then encouraged the other young lad to have a go too. Only this time instead of rolling into the start area, for some inexplicable reason he floored the car on full lock and wiped out the drivers side of a nearby mint TT with the front bumper of the S4. If this wasn't bad enough, the person that shall remain nameless (well I don't actually know is name!) just tried to saunter away. As one of the stewards approached him, he did a Carl Lewis impression and left the scene on foot. Only to be hotly pursued be a friend of an S2 Forum member and what I suspect were TT owners club members, out of Castle Combe and towards the nearest village.
Ten minutes later the lad reappeared having been run down by said friend of S2 Member, and returned to the Audi marquee to sort things out. It turned out he was 16 too, and had not driven before...
All in all a very bad day for the TT owner who now requires a new front bumper, drivers door, sill panel, rear three quarter and two alloys.
A shame really as this did slightly mare what was a great day blessed with chilly but dry weather.
See other thread for full details.
Cheers,
Steve
