i'm almost 100% thats the car.i'll try my rs2 injectors again this problem only started since i took them out or i might have disturbed the wiring for the injectors . i haven't really messed with anything else that i can think of and it was running fine like i said except the smoke .

is it defo black smoke from running rich? If you idle a newly built motor for too long without bedding those rings in, you can glaze the bores and burn oil. Not what you want to hear I know..................

hello mark it seems to clear when it warms up and it definetly smells like rich mixture i can tell the difference between oil burning smell and fuel mixture .also got an air lock in the water system which i cant seem to get rid of its in the heater matrix.heater is blowing cold air. the pipe to heater matrix is slightly warm and the one coming out from heater matrix is cold the valve is ok any ideas ?

Is the matrix blocked, can you flush it through with a hose to check?

Could see how that might effect things the other way round. If it told the ecu that the engine is cold when it was hot, there would be a certain amount of enrichment.
                      Obviously if its cold anyway.....
Still don't think you shouldn't run those RS2 inj yet. They must be overfuelling. The fact they appear to mask the problem is irelevant. Need to find the prob! Would have thought if you had a ign prob that more fuel would make it worse

hi twoqu i've kept faith in s2 injectors for now . i used loads of wd40 on all the connectors, maybe there was moisture on connectors. it only runs a bit rough on idle .when i rev it a bit it doesn't miss and seems ok .

Well that progress. It has been wet lately! Might be worth going around all the critical engine ones to make sure, especially the maf one. Not sure whether you can use WD or are better off with some kind of contact cleaner.
Thats what I was saying before about rushing. You need to methodically check everything. Although I can't see how getting a good contact at the injectors would stop it running rich.

finger seems to point to the sensor behind the head.

No doubt about this, it can make the engine run rich.

Dirty injectors can make it run rich.
