and dont you dare say Phil Neville!

I would never say Phil Neville, never rated him, especially since euro 2000 when he gave that penalty away to Rumania.

Just because players have Champions League experiance doent mean they should be in the England squad. I'm a gooner through and through, and as much as it hurts to say Ledley King is an excellent player, i think he has a definate role to play in the World Cup. Scott Parker will probably be injured, Nicky Butt? oh please dont be silly. Michael Carrick is a maybe i suppose, and Owen Hargreaves i guess i can say i dont know what his current form is like. I dont believe we need to play the holding midfield role every game but it's good to be able to take 2 players that could fill that position.

Ledley King is a defender and a good one at that, yes against weak opposition he looks decent but he hasn't the midfield know how to play that role as Argentina proved.

Parker hasn't been injured all season, Nicky Butt voted player of 2002 world cup, Carrick played in the holding role on US tour and looked better than Kign IMHO.

        Hargreaves is currently injured.

1 good game in that position doesn't make King the answer. Its like playing Rooney on the wing because he can play there doesn't mean he should.

He will score the winning goal in the world cup final in the dying seconds and then you'll be sorry

@jamo i accept carrick could be part of the squad, but please, nicky butt, player of the tournament 2002, voted by ericson, and yes he had a good world cup, but that was 4 years ago.

lets hope who ever does end up going will bring the trophy home with them.

RE:He will score the winning goal in the world cup final

Against the Brazillians? They're gonna win it again anyway. Top goal scorer will probably either be Adriano or Rubinho or Ronaldo or KAKA or.....should I go on? They are by far the most awesome team the tournament has EVER seen since the wonder team of the 70 WC in Mexico.

3-5-2. With, in my opinion three of the best centre halves in europe we should have enough defensive strength. With Beckham's passing we have the creativity and it also gives Lampard and Gerrard license to go forward and do what they do best. Rooney is a must and Owen does nothing then scores which suits me fine. I would also consider King for in the back line and Defoe up front. Crouch i would take cos he gives us the comedy factor and pushing the midfield it has to be Carrick. A.cole gives us that natural left foot and can get up and down like Carlos does for Brazil thats why Madrid are buying him. Come on ENGLAND!

I think I would still prefer to have tried and tested wing backs. Not sure England suit the 3 5 2 as you describe.

It will be interesting to find out next summer though.!

                          Cheers,
