Totally agree with this article. As a Christian, I take offence that our society is bending over backwards to accommodate, and over-accommodate a religion which is foreign to our society.
In a muslim or buddhist country, I would be put in prison if I went there and claimed that their culture offended me and I wanted it to change.
Like the article says, I have nothing against immigrants, and I think it's good to help those in need. But that should not, and does not require us to change for them.

looks like we have a good topic to discuss here. take a look for the things in France now. what do You think about it?when i was in Paris in 1994 to celebrate New Years Day, the only annoying and agresive people we have found there were Algierians. they wewe really asking for punishement. i hate such a behaviour! things go bad direction i think. i was working 6 years in Egypt, quite different culture and people, but i had reall good and true friends there. all depends of people. let them build new "better" home whereever they like, but they should understand very clearly that they are guests in new location and should follow the rules and regulations existing there.if they start to complain they are in wrong place.

Talking BNP, although I do not agree with the party, it is a legal one. Although I understand why the Police and Fire Brigades should not have BNP members employed, we are going down a very dodgy path if we start banning people from work just because they belong to it. Sounds like a dictatorship to me!

You dont get Egyptians whining about the return to the good old days of pyramids and hieroglyphics. Change happens.
Its the people that make the land whatever it is.
Dont get me wrong, the UK is a great place to live and its my home but you cant just claim a land and stop change when the only thing that makes a land anything is the people. So when the population becomes 80% brown and black and 20% white then its the people who will still rule. And who knows - what if they decide the national language should become one which the 20% cant even pronounce, then what?

So many churches are closing down because nobody goes. Most so called christians have no faith in anything anymore. This nation was based on christianity maybe but that was one section of time. It was someone elses before that. Its now a world country where the people, whoever they may be, will change and shape the UK to make it whatever it shall be.

There's too many people in this country messing it up for everyone!! My mate got told to take down his St Georges flag off his roof as it was offending a couple of the neighbours, WTF is that all about.

Funny you mention that, it appears no-one is allowed to fly the St.Georges Flag just INCASE it offends. What makes it even more funny, 3 of my really close mates (Syrian, Iraqi and Turkish) do not give a monkeys when they see us flying the flag and they always say "Why should we be offended, we are in England". Its all because the Do-Gooders and the PC-Brigade get worried incase someone does take offence.

I was having a conversation with my mate from Iraq in the car today about Christmas carols being banned and the celebration of christmas being banned in some parts of this country and in alot of schools and he was saying it is ridiculous because this is our culture and if they wish they can adopt it, if they dont want to, they should accept it and thats exactly what he does.

He also raised another good point, he asked me to go and try and ban things in Iraq and tell them that their flag is offending me.

Perhaps it would be a different story if you werent allowed to be scottish anymore? Its very easy when you live in the ****-end of nowhere and dont see any of the problems we have in the south, but then again, the government seem to favour certain parts of 'britain'.

Lets also get one thing straight, this isnt all about race, I can count the amount of english friends I have on 2 hands, it doesnt bother me where someone is from, what does bother me is people taking the ****. Dead legs, people claiming benefits because they are lazy, people coming here just because we are the land of the free....As in they get everything for free even when its probably not a genuine cause.

If I had my way, only decent working folk would be around unless they had a good cause not to be able to work, i.e. Ill health or they are pensioners! (another sore topic for me) regardless of what nationality they are.

I agree with ROTORBOY here our country is bending over backwards to accomodate every one apart from British people .If you want to come here and contribute you can atleast speak our language and respect our customs and not take over .My fear is that all this will make for a racist country and I for one am not racist .If you come to OUR country then accept it for the way it is and not how you are going to change it .Yes it is our country and if you dont like it please close the door on the way out
