Explosion and Fire!!!

Was woken this morning by an almight explosion that shook my house!
Luckily no damage was done to my house, but most of the houses nearer to the explosion have suffered damage to most of there windows

I only took a few pics as i was driving and looking at what was happening... pics below....

First few were taken within 30mins of the explosion

Most of the housing estate that the last pic was taken on had the same damage, along with a lot of the surrounding areas

Its the main supply for the SE of England and supplies all the airports down here too.

Its piped directly to the site from Canvey Island terminal on the North Sea / London Estuary area and also directly from Grimsby. The site is huge!

Heard about this on the news this morning. Apparently the flames and smoke were visable from 40 miles away!!

if i lived in Canvey Island i might take a "day trip" to North Wales today then, just in case there's a spot of "fire in the pipes"

Have they got it under control now - that's one hell of a cloud coming out if it this morning!

Bet it'll make the news later - you should try and get your S2 on TV Ant!

Bloody hell Ant, glad you are ok, I was wondering how near you "north of london chaps" were to that. Don't breathe too much of that smoke eh? Skies are dark down here too, 30 miles south of london.. they say the blast was heard 100 miles away Any one else on the forum in your area?
