    Actual figure is 5252 rpm - it's a physics thing why they should cross at this rpm.

    explains it far better than I can

      That's the article I was looking for

      "Here's an interesting bit of trivia; below 5252 rpm any engine's torque number will always be higher than its horsepower number, and above 5252 rpm any engine's horsepower number will always be higher than its torque number. At 5252 rpm the horsepower and torque numbers will be exactly the same"

      Also, check out any of the other S2Forum RR sessions and look at their plots....such as here. Remember that in standard form, the ABY has peak torque at 1950RPM, although most tuned engines tend to shift that closer to 3000rpm, but they tend to have way more power than you (350BHP plus). Your peak torque is shown at 4000RPM and your torque curve crosses your power curve at an amazing 7000RPM, which I thought was impossible for any petrol engine ( waits to be shouted down). Although I have even read articles on F1 engines saying the same thing, so maybe no one will disagree.

      Dunno whether it's your engine or their RR, but summut ain't quite right

      Cheers n

            Geir is right. The graph looks correct. Torque is measured in NM on that plot.
            bhp=lbs/ft @ 5252rpm.
            bhp=Nm x 0.7375621493 @ 5252rpm.

            Lots of people get caught by that.

              That makes sense didnt think of that. How do u convert Nm To lbs?I still think it is a bit down on torque really.

                Uh..... How about Nm x 0.7375621493 = lbs/ft?
                Or lbs/ft x 1.355817948 = Nm.

                  oops!
                  what is standard torque on the s2? Just want to see what the difference is since my remapp. I also found out yesterday the thermostat definatly needs replacing and one of the cats has collapsed inside. They let it run up to around 90 before doind the run. Would the collapsed cat affect the figures?

                      When u say overboost what does that actually mean? Is that at the maximum boost? I thought with mine beong remapped i would have more than 9nm difference from standard.

                        overboost is that the ecu lets the boost get higher for a short period of time. Aby has this function and 3b not, but i still think the NM is too low for an chipped car, as i was telling further up mine is chipped too ( 3b) and it produce 360 NM at the wheels in 3 gear. What kind of boost are u running?
                        I have 1,4 in third gear . max boost in 5 is 1,5.
                        u got 200 hp max on the wheels not 190 if you study the graph.

                          I thought that was was a bit strange the graph says 200 but i went by the written figures which say 190. Ill see what doug and mhinea say about the torque figures considering u got that at the wheels.

                            the figures says 190 because thats were u got most hp.
                            the hp is very good and graph looks very nice.

                              Remembering that KW = Nm * Rpm * pi / 30000, you get that:

                              KW equals Nm @ 9549.3 rpm; and
                              Bhp equals Nm @ 7120.9 rpm (as is shown in this graph)

                                Just looking at my graph again and i saw the max.attained rpm and the speed of 236.9km/h which is about 148mph. Is this my top speed? What gear do u think these figures were taken from? I was thinking 5th if thats right then i should top 160 in 6th what do u think?
