Bedford Autodrome is pretty good - long high speed straights, some good twisty 2nd gear sections and, nicely, there are no armcos to crash into if you go off the black stuff as it's all open plan and no spectator areas...

You can't go wrong with Castle Combe of course.

Haven't done Coombe since the chicanes were put in but I'd say Donington is much more technically difficult. Coombe is ideal for a first track session.

I'd love another go at Brands if they do track days there (I'm sure they must do), it's a lovely circuit, quite short and easy to learn, get some good speed on the main straight and there are a couple of very rewarding bends.

""Britain can justifiably claim to be the home of motorsport, if not its originator. The centre of the car building industry (in motor racing at least), Britain boasts an unparalleled level of expertise.

It is not surprising, considering that Brooklands was Europe's first permanent, purpose-built motor racing circuit. In the lock-ups at the paddock, 'garagistes' forged one-off specials, with a level of ingenuity that was to found an industry and lead to global domination. Equally, British drivers have more Grand Prix wins than any other nation, and the public has a high level of knowledge of the motorsport world.

Circuits abound in England, although only a handful are to be found in Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland. Only a few, though, were purpose-built for motorsport. Rather, Silverstone, Thruxton, Snetterton, Goodwood, Croft and Pembrey were all former RAF airfields, pressed into action as venues for motor racing after hostilities ceased. As a result, racing in Britain tends to require very different styles of setup to mainland European circuits. Twisty, medium-speed and quite bumpy, British circuits can take some getting used to!""
