I'm 37, wife is 25, we have 5 cars on our classic car insurance, all have agreed value and unlimited mileage and it's £949 a year for the lot!!!
    Those cars are:
    1995 Audi RS2
    1972 Porsche 914/4 (modified)
    1980 Porsche 911 Turbo
    1964 Volkswagen Type 3 Squareback
1973 Volkswagen Westfalia Bay window van.
    Wolverhampton postcode and clean licence!

    and the excess is £150!
The only place I ever found that offered a classic policy was Carole Nash. I phoned them first a coupl of years back, and they said the criteria was it hadto be 10 years old. 1 year later I took up their classic policy for just under £400 quid. I think Robo on here was insured too. I ,however, sold my car a couple of months into the policy, at which time I beleive PeteRS2 tried to insure the same....... but had difficulty as they had droped the RS from a classic staus

Do you know anyone who will touch it as a classsic ........?

I use Footman James for both my classic car policy and my motor trade policy.
Have done for years, and have always found their service excellent and helpful. I run a large Aircooled VW club and alot of my members have also used them, and have found them very competetive and helpful.

As a rule a car insurance company won't insure a car as a classic unless it's over 25 years old, and also, very few will touch drivers under 25, but certain modern cars such as the Audi RS2 and Porsche 911's gain almost instant classic car status due to the limited amount and that most people who own them are going to be sensible.

There are plenty of other companies that will offer Classic car policies such as Carole Nash, Adrian Flux, Spooners insurance, Sureterm, and HIC, but if anyone uses HIC then you may as well throw yer money in a burning fire.

Chris 50, you got killed by Admiral then. I only paid £500 for the 10mnth accelerator, and I have a DR10 (5yrs old people) and 6points and live in a high crime area of Leicester,

My advice is use confused.com does alot of the work for you then ring them up and batter them over the phone for a lower price.

I got a quote of under £400 from Admiral and I'm in London, that's a stinker. As Azman says, try www.confused.com to get a competitive price and then get back on the phones to the rotters and argue them down with their "beat any price" or "price match" or whatever their lying adverts claim...

I just bought insurance with admiral. i used to be (Still am until the 3rd of feb) with Norwich Union but they have decided to increase my policy to £911 from about £750.

Admiral only charged me £608 for a 10 month rapid no claims bonus thingy.
              Bargain!

              I'm 21, and have 1 years no-claims.

              cheers

wait until you're 25 and you should see a whopping difference.

Couldn't insure the missus on the RS2 or 911 on a standard policy without paying thousand's, come her 25th birthday, then you can get them on a classic car policy for pennies in comparison!
