Vibrations on high speed curves ?

    Evenin' everyone,

Coming home from work this evening, I was a bit over the speed limit ( 160km/h ) and I noticed vibrations coming thru the floor associated with some wheel shimmy BUT only when driving on the curves. On the straights, the car feels perfectly balanced and taut... It can't be the highway as it's perfectly flat where all this happened.

    Any ideas ?

    Thanx guyz !

I doubt it's a bearing as there is no bearing sound when it happens and when travelling at 120 km/h, no vibration, no steering wheel shimmy...

      But thanx anyway !

Could it be the top mounts ? I don't even know what the symptoms are when the top mounts are failing...

Is it only on, say, a left hand bend? Just wonder if you might have a faulty or worn tyre on one side that is vibrating under cornering load?

Had a similar problem a while ago - only at above 80ish speed on a motorway bend - on mine it was worn wishbone bushes causing the problem

I had violent vibrations when going above 70mph. I replaced the front wishbone bushes last night and that cured it.

How about a buckled wheel on that side. I have one on my Mondeo and it shows up more when cornering and putting weight on that side.

vibration appears at 65mph as well

Buckling ? Do you mean as if the bolts were loose ?

Mine does this. It seems to happen on left hand bends and at high speeds. Also happens when lifting of the throttle at high revs but only in third upwards. What could this be?
