Sorry, too much Pimp My Ride on daytime tv atm. Is it just me, or is every car they pimp just shocking. I'd be going own for half a dozen life sentences if anyone ever handed my keys across to Westwood + crew.
My idea of "pimping an S2" for the record, so this can't be held against me:
-Shiney 18" RS4 reps of similar.
-Full valet
-Brake UG/ front + rear
-Only changes to body work, taking out dents/scratches
-Subtle lowering
-S/S Exhaust
-RS2 Conversion or similar
-MRC remap
-Aero wipers
Hmmm, that closely resembles my current shopping list
I will, however, give myself a bitch-slap for that one. Thanks Steve.
LOL with that bitch-slap comment...
But save it for that dcik Westwood - I've forgotten more about cars than he has ever known ! Kin hate that program - its all Bling, ICE, SatNav (for the dumbed down masses of the populus that can't read a map) and other ******. Some of the guys doing the work are quite talented in their art, but the end product is always dire looking in that chavved up bling look
Westwood lol, I feel embarrassed watching that muppet. I really hope they don’t air that program outside of the UK for all our sakes
Back to topic, a friend of mine is looking at buying an A6 1.9TDi, anybody driven one? How does the 1.9 and 2.5 compare for fuel economy and running costs? ...and of course performance?
91CQ20v - Gone to a new home
93UR-S4 - The Magic Carpet
94S2Bus - The Emerald Express
Pros:
Given its a heavy car, pulls well 228ft/lb torque
actually quite quiet at cruise, though can be rattly on starting, depends which engine, the 130bhp model is a little more refined than the original 115bhp pump-dusse version I have.
Economy, a good motorway drive will give you over 600miles if you keep to about 80mph
well spec'd and one of the best laid out cars of its class, SE versions come with cruise (which I wish mine had )
The boot is enormous in saloon or avant form
Normal quality Audi build
Cons:
Seats could offer more lateral support but the sport version has better ones
Concert radio/cassette (with 6 cd in boot) has a habbit of chewing tapes and not giving them back and the volume button is known to fail
ground clearance is very poor on the front airdam, i ripped mine when it got caught on a normal height kerb in Tescos
If you happen to want to take one skiing (not literally) then clearance on snowchains can be a problem, you'll need specific low profile chains.
All in all a great car, comfortable to drive and easy to own and generally very reliable apart from mine seems to have a heat related head or gasket failure meaning on a long run it likes to drink coolant at a rate of 200 miles per litre. I'd only replace mine with an allroad for the extra clearance, the silky V6 TDI and if it came with those recaros!
im looking at getting an s8 as my next car, given the ridiculously cheap price they go for now!been a few on the autotrader around the 6k mark recently, loads on the bay too..http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/audi-1999-AUDI...QQcmdZViewItem
I would go for an A3 2.0TDI sportback, 140 bhp, with chiptuning it puts out 186 bhp and 420 nm of torque...
Sat in one last week and it drives very well, it's a company car from a m8, he constantly floored it to the redline and it kept on accelerating pretty fast after 100 km/h...
The car is being abused by him for two years now and till now nothing has been broken or damaged...

Cheers n

P.S. I still reckon 8-9K on a specced S2 and an old A4/A6 diesel
95 ABY S2 Coupe - Ragusa Green Subtle mods here and there
2011 A5 3.0 TDi - Lava Grey With every option available (except a towball)

That car has been on ebay twice before.
The guy bought it a week ago and now it's up for sale again?
im paying the petrol but its tax deductable. dont think it makes sense to not get a diesel even though I hate 'em
is an A6/A4much "fun" though ???
i've got the old 5 cylinder a6 2.5 tdi avant .you'll be surprised at how it leaves most petrol cars behind and very easy to drive around town too for a big car.
Have you also noticed that over half of the current S8's for sale on ebay, Autotrader etc have had expensive gearbox swaps
Looks like the R8 is not the only Audi V8 that chews it boxes
Cheers n
Si
mainly because the gearbox oil and filter/strainer is not changed, even main stealer doesnt consider this part of a service unless requested!should be changed every 20k miles according to auto box specialists....
THIS IS AN AUCTION FOR MY AUDI S8, I ONLY BOUGHT THIS CAR LAST WEEK ON EBAY, BUT SELLING DUE TO CHANGE OF PLANS.
I HAVE NOT PUT THE CAR ON MY NAME YET SO THE OWNER HAS NOT CHANGED, YOU ARE WELCOME TO SPEAK TO THE PREVIOUS OWNER AT ANY TIME. YOU MAY COME AND VIEW THE CAR AT ANY TIME I CAN BE REACHED ON 07815771007.
So how exactly did he take the car away? You should not be able to buy a car WITHOUT signing the V5 as the registered new owner and the previous owner sending off his section with your name and address on it? Fishy
