    Plea to England fans...

RE: The Cristiano Ronaldo outcry... get this around the office/your mates pronto...

There is a very real danger that Cristiano Ronaldo will be voted the
fans' best young player at the World Cup despite his pouting, diving,
pretty boy antics designed mainly to get himself a lucrative transfer to
Real Madrid and thus avoid the good kicking he deserves from Wayne
    Rooney at Manchester United training.

He is currently 1st in the FIFA voting just ahead of Luis Valencia of
Ecuador. Please can everyone go to:

and do the decent thing by voting for Valencia. It doesn't matter who
you support or if you haven't seen them play, just stop Ronaldo.
Takes less than 30 seconds...You know it makes sense!!!!

I've always disliked the show pony, if you've never seen him play let me give you an example of what he's like on the pitch.

Just leave it be guys all players dive it just the way in which the are brought up in europeen football there school of thought is to try and con the referee to gain any advantage they can (a freekick or penalty)

Fair point, but it appears that Mr C. Ronaldo was happy to incite the referee into sending a fellow professional (and teammate) off the field, with the subsequent ramifications for the player and his team.
This on its own is far from unusual, but what really sticks in the average English football fan's throat is how blatantly smug the little g!t was after the incident.
It maybe a major failing in the English game as far as getting results is concerned, but I can't believe that our team would ever do anything so underhand and not be intensely embarrassed about afterwards.
It's sad enough to see that we have started to bring the theatrical dive into our game-plan, as per most other international teams, god forbid we descend to the depths of Senor Ronaldo and co'...

Ronaldo, whispered something in Rooneys ear at the start of the match and gave a little head butt. It is suspected he said something along the lines of "I'm going to get you sent off"

Rooney gets invloved in a tussle with 2 portuguese players and remains on his feet whilst the other two foul him. As he is scrambling for the ball is *looks* like he stamped on one chaps crown jewels. This time i believe rooney was going for the (foot)ball.

The ref is calmly dealing with this situation until Ronaldo comes running over asking why he isn't going to book rooney right in front of rooney

Rooney pushes Ronaldo and is sent off.

As ronaldo wanders back towards the edge of the pitch he give the management of his a "knowing wink" i.e. Told you I could get him sent off.

Utterly discraceful behaviour. Ronaldo is cheating scum and is not welcome in England.

                      Cheers,

                      Steve

Yes, but it was clearly unintentional as Rooney was trying to reclaim the ball while being fouled by two Portugese players.

                          i've voted

i don't particularly like football (rugby is my game), and I'm Welsh so I don't much care that Enlgand are out, but that behaviour of Ronaldo's made me spit fire. I have never liked him, and have always thought he was a dirty player (does a lot of nasty things off the ball), but that was the final insult. I hope that Rooney breaks his legs, so that for once Ronaldo writhes in genuine agony on the floor.

then we can all laugh at him.

If its not Rooney, I suspect there's going to be plenty of others lining up for it. It is reminiscent of Gavin Henson's treatment after his comments about other players in his autobiography........ most of the northern hemisphere's rugby players seemed to be after him......

Yes but, ronaldo was not playing for MUFC. So, it is respectable that he treats rooney as enemy. If however he started passing the ball to rooney because he is his "team mate" then he would of got a lot of stick for being a traitor.

Also, it dosnt matter who ran up to the ref and cried or not. bottom line is, rooney stepped on the nuts and got sent off. who's fault is that?

I'm not convinced that he was sent off for stamping on some Portugese goolies. I think it was for the push.

It may have been that he was heading for a yellow for retaliating against an aggressive tackle, but that was upgraded to a red after he pushed a player.

No matter what happens on a football field, a player should not retaliate against another and should be sent off if he does.

If a player is getting wound up then he should be proffesional enough to ignore it.

Therefore no matter how much Ronaldo wound him up or teased him, it is still Roonie's fault that he was sent off.

There's a million other examples out there, but at the moment it seems that all Englishmen can't see past this recent one.
