Best setup for ~400 Hp S2 ABY Coupe ??

Brakes done, wheels done, suspension done, time to go to get some real power for my Baby.
So i am starting this thread hoping to get advise from those who already have done it and have experience.
What is the best setup for a power range 400-450 HP? Can i build it on RS2 setup with RS2 turbo or You suggest any different ones with faster spin etc. Is the RS2 intercooler OK for it? What about RS2 airbox, will it be able to supply such a setup? What EM will be the best one? Good advises welcome, BTW where can i remap and adjust it with MRC in Germany when finished?
Want this project to be finished till 03.2007

RS2 setup wont cut it mate not for 400-450 bhp aim

Forget the RS2 airbox it's going to be cone filter for you mate as your going to need a GT3071R or GT2871

Consider the 034 RS2 replica manifold for and look for some porsche orange or MRC special injectors.

Mapping would be MRC but find alternatives just incase as members seem to be having issues with contacting MRC for jobs.

I would say the gt2871 would be optimal, spools fast and can give 400-450 hp. Use with RS2 manifold, fuel pump and injectors, custom software.

Is this approaching conrod failure zone, they wont take much more than that will they?

It's not the BHP output, it's the torque output that cause conrod failure but it's a good point.

Will you be running stock rods?

I'd go GT3071R less surge problems.

I want to stay with stock rods, pistons etc. if possible, this car is not going to be quarter mile car. Hope that they can live with torque about 500 Nm.
Jamo, why GT3071R? Isn't it too big for this sort of power and too laggy?
Do i need to change stock fuel pump?

550 to 580nm i believe, but its low down torque which will bend rods unfortunately and thats what the IL5 is all about

Yep an uprated fuel pump will have to be fitted plus an adjustable fuel pressure regulator.
Nice to hear all the suspension and brakes have been sorted first.

Future upgradability, i wanted a 2871r on the coupe but the 3071 is more suited to the S2.

But if your going to be running stock rods maybe 2871r is a better bet as it would also allow you to keep the RS2 airbox IIRC Jon441c can comment as he has one in his car i do believe

Jamo, when looking at the pictures of the 034 replica manny I'd say the design is not so great. The real thing is probably way better.

There are replica manifold designs that I think would work just great. Some time ago (early summer or so) there was some pictures of swedish made (IIRC) manifold that looked just great.

RS injectors are maxed out at 450hp. I do think too that 2871 would probably be a good choise for 400-450hp.

Proper manifold would of course be the best. Like the Repo desing or similar.

Change the fuel pump and to be on the safe side, overhaul the engine and change the rods.

So basicly if you want to keep the original pistons and conrods and compression ratio it is probably the best way to go for RS2 turbo, exhaust manifold and injectors and keep it at around 350 bhp / 500 Nm or so?

Tom, change the rods if you want to go higher than 500nM otherwise you'll be ok as long as you don't get a boost spike..

I'm thinking turbos too at the mo and its hard to chose between the 2871 and 3071.

There's enough info on the 034 site to give you a feel, I'm drawn toward the 3071 which it seems will boost up at about the same rpms as the RS2 turbo but be good for 500 odd hp whereas the 2871 is really fast spooling but good for around 425, I think
What I need to know is whether the K26/GT3071 will fit on the RS2 EM and work with the RS2 airbox as I'd really like to keep these and still give 450bhp..

The K26/GT3071 should fit the rs2 EM just fine, many out there running this setup. The airbox probably has to go, in an S4/S6 it is just enough space to keep the airbox, the Rs2 unit would probably not fit, but others should know.
