Looks like its an attempt to stop people with similar auctions contacting second placers with an offer for sale to them...
Either way, we know its not about better auctions, its always going to mean more money for ebay............Honda CBR 1100XX Blackbird Turbo....undergoing major changes.....
S2 Coupe... bit easier off the line...

I totally agree with you, hiding the second and third place guys stops private sales outside of ebay. This new policy does suck, glad it's only on ebay.uk so farOriginally posted by LHD_KidLooks like its an attempt to stop people with similar auctions contacting second placers with an offer for sale to them...

Actually, it ain't that bad after all. I'm selling my Maserati on the bay at the moment, and when I look at who's bidding a pop up window appears and then it allows me to see there past 30 day bidding history which is damn helpful to see if the bidder is actually genuine!
for example, I have this person bidding:
which looks bloody strange to me! Why would anyone who buys crystal beads suddenly bid on this item, and then this person:Item 1 Cars, Parts & Vehicles > Cars > Maserati 4 Seller 1 9d 14h 7m 9s

You could see all that info before though. They've just made it easier
Same as people who have their feedback as "private" even if it is 100%.
You can still see what they've bought/sold and are bidding on in the last 30 days. Always have been able to do this.
I rarely sell, certainly don't sell anything over £100 and wouldn't risk selling a car, not saying it's dodgy to do so, just can't be ****d with the numpty questions, scammers trying to give you 3 million US dollars from Nigeria
and people "expecting" to get it cheap just because it's on ebay.
If I buy anything over £100 it's usually using "buy it now" on normal ebay or through ebay express.2001 Avus Silver B5 RS4.

I've never noticed that before and I've been using eBay for 6 years regularly!!Originally posted by Jas11nYou could see all that info before though. They've just made it easier

Maybe they've made it easier for lazy arses like me!!!
To be honest, selling a car on eBay ain't that bad. I've probably sold 15 on there over the past few years, and 95% sell before the auction ends anyway! For me, it's just a good way of advertising for a reasonable price. If you pull the auction early, it's still 3 times cheaper than Auto Trader, and I can have any amount of pics I want on there and really beef up the listing which you can't do on Auto Trader.
Can never understand people who list cars then put up one or two lame *** camera phone pics and expect the get full asking price for the vehicle!
I've got 13 pics on mine, all big as well and the listing took me an hour to type up!Comment

Myke, I thought that was a change for all Ebay, including the U.S. one. I noticed a change like that on Ebay.com a little while ago.Originally posted by ToxcheapI totally agree with you, hiding the second and third place guys stops private sales outside of ebay.
