Well FIA Class 2 is the Supertouring category, and if the cars didn't adhere to FIA Class 2 they were not Supertourers in the true sense, they were above Supertouring!Originally posted by 1975DCSFrom what I can remember the French Super Tourers were bewinged beasts back then with about 400 bhp!
We ran FIA Class 2 in the UK and the cars were about 300bhp, with a minimum front splitter height of 50mm, and the fenders were not allowed to be flared as per the pictures shown (track widths were allowed to be 1% wider than the manufacturer's specification, and all suspension points had to be within 25mm of the original position). The rear wing was single plane.
In fairness, other championships also moved away from the Class 2 regulations (All Japan championship, where the fenders were flared and the rear wing was as high as the roofline) - but in all those cases the cars were no longer "Supertouring" cars in accordance with Supertouring regulations.
