    big power loss

hi my s2 has been running ropey for a while so last weekend i took it to noble motorsport in chesterfield.i had problems accelerating it was holding back and lagging like you would not believe so i needed it sorted.Noble motorsport replaced all my vaccum hoses as they were split. the diaphram in the dump valve had also collapsed.
i changed that and guess what no better.

So this morning i phoned the chief technician at my local audi garage and he told me to take the down pipe off and there is a rod into the turbo / wastegate?? and he said if i cannot move that with my hands i need a new turbo do these symptons sound familiar hope someone can help

sorry it is so long a lot to write

Take it to Greg's Dad @ Church Lane garage, only round the corner from shrewsbury in baschurch.

It's where we've held garage meets and the guys there know S2's!

Exactly, you need to get someone who understands these cars to have a look.

Well Im no expert by any means but what the technician has told you sounds a complete load of s*** to me
From my own experience with my S2 it seems that the majority of Audi Dealerships (Not all) dont have a clue about S2's as they're "an old car now mate".....

Incidentally, how come you went to Noble's?? Last time I went there was years ago with a Pug 205 turbo technixed car (wicked fun!) and I ended up with a £700 bill and NO fix.
Was not impressed in the slightest.
Like Jamo and Newsh suggest...take it to Gregs Dads for them to fix it
Failing that...do a boost leak test as Im sure they wont have replaced your boost hoses (only vacuum hoses)

          Could be the MAF mate.
You might leave the S2 fold every so often - but you'll always come back!

We suggested www.billsmith.co.uk last time you posted.

Have you tried pulling codes from the car?
