    A friend at work and his missus have separately hit pot holes on two different roads in the area and both have submitted claims to the county council. I believe that one of these has been honoured and the other is being processed. Give it a go, get photographic evidence and give Citizens Advice Bureau or a legal helpline a bell to find out your rights. That's very dangerous and is out of order.

      I've seen a couple of cases where the road surface has been replaced within a week of an accident. Both were fatalities though.

          It is called Vehicle Excise Duty (VED) these days so that we can't complain about the state of the roads.

          My father claimed years ago to the council when he blew a tyre that was a week old when we were on a holiday in Devon. The full cost of the replacement was paid and his postage for the letter.

          I bet he wouldn't get that now...
