BMW Z4 versus Audi S2

Well as the title suggests we had a visitor to my little corner of britain which will now be called S2 county . I have not had the S2 long (my first) so I haven't had much experience of just how truly amazing these cars are.

I was just pootling along on the 'B' road from my house to the town to get some provisions when lo and behold I see a 'BMW' badge in my mirror... ... this made me, and my S2, growl as we don't like pretenders in these here parts. Now I'm not sure what power these Z4s' (3.0 Si) are but I could see he was about (he and his passenger thought) to give Audi a lesson in power....so I put the S2 into boost mode ( on my car this involves pressing a foot lever on the floor to the right)..oh how this makes me smile.....now it was damp this morning on the road ...so even better for me............and we're off up the hill round some tight corners all wheels driving..... ....in my mirror I see a Z4 not only getting out of shape but it appears to be getting smaller very quickly..... ....well a little way down the road we I caught up with some other local folk going to market so had to obey the local speed laws which seem to be governed by a convoy of Land Rovers.... ....anyway we thought we'd proved our point and were quite happy to go back into pootling mode.....a little time later I see a BMW badge again and two youngish lad occupents straining to see just what Audi this was......and this makes me smile again...

Sorry this story is sooo long but had to share this with you.....all I can say is S2s' absolutely rock.....

My beauty is at 280 for now.... ......so when you light up the blue touch paper she's off like a stabbed rat......but what really suprised me with her is the torque, it's out of this world for a turbo car.....

MRC Remapp i seem to recall! Great to hear u are liking the car Jon, and still showing the BMW's what a car should go like. The BMW boys round my way certainly know.

Great story

My latest pet hate drivers.......Nissan 350z. Almost in the same league as a Boxster driver, you know the ones, glasses on (phone in hand) thinking that they'll dispatch everything they see Not sure what power they run but I lost one embarrasingly easily the other morning coming off a roundabout. Always the best way, they come flying round the roundabout and sit on your bootlid - you just glance up, smile to yourself and leave them for dead as u exit

heh I haven't really had it in with a 350z... have wondered though.

Like the story, always nice when you stick it to someone in a much newer machine who thinks they'll show up your S-badge. Only to regret it

David, that roundabout (one where you turn left into chineham, straight up A33 or left to the supermarket) seems a common place for some to have a go... those BMW owners trying to blast past and then turn left @ the light always have a surpise if I keep the 'wagon in 2nd

i had a dual the other night with a new sytyle m3. im not saying we're faster than them but his face was a picture as i edged past at 160! Guessing he has the 155 limiter cutting in?

why are you all bragging ?

welst you race some one on a public high way ,if they crash and die ,and you dont stop to help ,you will go to prison for 5 years[as happend to a subaru driver in the south]. so maybe if you do have a little race with some one you should not be bragging about it across the whole world wide webb

Yes of course you're right A1, but I don't see that there is anything wrong with a little head to head now and then or is everyone gonna tell me that they stick religiously to the speed limits, remembering that speed kills, or is it the sudden stop....I can't remember ..... If I have a little race and it goes wrong then I'll remember not to put it up on here ( and I would stop to help them ).........my next story will be about how I managed to do 31 in a 30 zone and keep my license.....
