anyone watch the program last night on tv regarding police speed traps (laser guns)? the doctor doing the test pointed one at a building and it gave a reading of 8 mph .
since when does a building travel at 8 mph ?
another test showed a car travelling at 15 mph but on the laser it showed 42 mph only because another car along side it was travelling at 42 mph so the laser picked that up .another stationary car showed 8mph .
if you ever get done by laser gun there is a good chance you might be getting done for somebody else's speed .the police said the doctor doesn't know how to use the equipment and that it is accurate .
few people have won their cases in court after the findings .Comment

I got clocked at 147.8 mph average speed over a fixed 1/4 mile distance. followed by 59 mph in a 50 zone on a separate occasion. both charges were seperate however fell to be dealt together at court and i got done on the totting up proceedure 6 points for each offence and a 6 month ban.
I appealed and got my licence back after 6 weeks, I was lucky.
I basically used PACE laws to say that the officer was not visable, was alone in the vehicle did not make himself aware to me whilst in pursuit, it was a unmarked M5. Also the officer did not produce a calibration certificate at the scene.
Try researching the PACE laws and see what info you can use in your defence.Comment
