An open question to the forum here, what's the worst car you've ever driven?
This question is triggered by my experience of hiring a car the other day. A 2007 Nissan Almera with 3000km on the clock. This gets my vote for the worst car I have ever driven.
Absoloutley appalling car. Gearbox was as sloppy as chicken gravy, the steering was completely un-attached to what was happening to the wheels, and bizarrely, the PAS got heavier the slower the car went. It was ridiculously noisy, over 100km/h the wind whistled around the bodywork like an old Volvo 240. The engine was as rough as a bag of spanners and was about as keen to rev as a dried slug. The ride quality was like driving over a never-ending series of tree stumps and the handling was, well, understeer at 20km/h anybody? The quality of the internal materials in the dash was like something you've not seen since the 1960s, the seats were rubbish and the aircon was either freezing, or off. And finally, the brakes, they were so over-servoed as to be ridiculous - they were either full on, or off, nothing in between.
To its credit, the boot was quite large and it didn't seem to use much petrol, but then I didn't get it over 120km/h as I was too worried about my own personal safety from driving such a barge.
Unbelievable to find such a genuinely all-round awful, new car, in 2007. Worse even than the 2005 Vauxhall Vectra I had as a hire car a few years ago.
Anyone else got some horror stories to share?

Nothing is right about it
(newer version of the Marina but even worse) it had 22k on the clock sported a 1.8 engine that was so so poor performance wise a nissan cherry whooped my backside away from the lights and the brakes and suspension from a boat and a very rubbish boat at that. i was very happy to collect my (wait for it) fiesta XR2 with its fresh mot......... oh the shame

You been out in my car then Corey
