Did you get a pic of the front of the car at all Coxy?, in all it's quad-lamped glory.
Tip off on an Audi Turbo!

That´s a damn shame. So sad to see an old Type 43 Turbo end like this
They were really great cars in their day
And they are becoming increaslingly rare, so it´s really a shame to see this one
Looks like that if you had put her into to a sheltered place when they left her 10 years ago it would have been a nice car today.
I have a Type 43 myself, sadly only a 5S engine, allways wanted a Turbo one, and was even offered two just one month ago, but the condition was pretty bad, and the 5S is in really good condition, so think I will hang on to that one instead.
Got the S2 if I need to go fast anyways

Went back today and took this:

and then an old bloke appeared at the window!
I asked if he wanted to sell it and he said yes. The scrap men had been round but he didn't want them to have it as he thought someone might want it!
Turned out to be a well nice chap, a bit of a recluse sort, but very pleasant!!
he parked the car up in 1996 after the exhaust went on the way home one day and din't drive it again!
He opened up the interior and the passenger footwell had about 2 inches of moss growing in it!!
When he closed the door, half the sill (rust!!) fell onto the floor!
Whoever takes this on is a VERY brave man!!Comment

Lucky he didn't come out with a shotgun with the cry of 'geroff my land'. Brilliant - glad the old duffer is still puffin. What a damn shame to let that old car rot away like that cos he couldnt be arsed getting the zorst fixed.

That would be soooo cool slammed on a decent set of rims...
Too far gone for me I am afraid, even my Jedi detailing skills couldn't bring that back to life.

What a shame.
I don't think I've ever seen a 200 Turbo Saloon before.
I can't believe someone would let a car like that rot, just because the exhaust went.
I also can't believe anyone really lives in that house. Are you sure you didn't talk to the guy that used to live there, before he died in 1996?

Come on guys!!!!
Project Detail!!!!
We must be able to muster up about 5 porter cables on here and a few gallons of meguiars. Reckon, most of that will buff out!
Then again, I've just been in a car accident and am a little delerious!Comment

Nice one Coxy!
Though you seem to get more of an idea of how hanging it is from that angle.
I'd still love one, though it'd have to be half decent. If only he'd had put it in that garage instead of leaving it out in the open.
I think I'd of sh*t myself if someone suddenly appeared at that window!

Coxy will go back for another look at the weekend, a neighbour will wander over - have a chat and say "No sir - the gentlemen that owned this car passed away many years ago".
<thump thump thump, vroooom> as Coxy makes a quick escape !

I did have someone with me as I was taking them out for a test drive in the 90q which I was selling (now sold) and we went via there to get another picture. I must admit, I did **** it for about 2 seconds when I saw the old man in the window drinking a brew!!!
He came out and send he saw me taking pics yesterday and wondered what I was up to but being in another Audi kinda put his mind at ease!!
For anyone that want's to try restoring it...
2 words..
Good Luck!
I wish I'd have taken a foto of the passenger side footwell which had about 2 inches of moss in it as there was a old fag packet on the floor and the moss had grown all around it!! very surreal!!Comment

For the not-so-brave, or nearly-as-brave, here are a couple of similar cars for sale. A 200 and two 100's. Though none of them are turbo's unfortunately, but at least the're 5 pots.
