Looking at an S2

Can you all tell i know nothing about the S2?! Or most cars actually!

So, its defo a coupe then! Well thats that sorted!

As for brakes it has drilled discs front and rear....take it these are not standard discs??

Does 120k not worry people? The car does have a good comprehensive service record but will see more about that at the weekend.

Lastly, is there a meet in or close to yorkshire soon? I may have a ride across to see some S2's!

120K with good history is fine, check for play in the turbo or noises/smoke unload or when lifting off

Check for history of replacement of suspension bushes, top mounts, gearbox and rear diff mounts as i'd expect that these would need to be done sooner rather than later.

Cross drilled discs are aftermarket and look better but probably no better than stock performance wise.

No not standard brake discs then.. with a good service record Dan tbh i laugh at 120k ha ha Loads on here with many many more miles than that mines on 116k with no probs at all

Cheers David, I'll make sure I'll look those up within the history. Just spoken with the wife and see doesnt like the car, or the pics at least!

We're trying for a baby soon and she thinks in unpracticle! And a 4.2 A8 is practicle for a baby i suppose?!?!

I'll talk her round as she misses my S4 like mad!!!!!

If you can get a coffin in it with the seats down, it's an Avant... (It'll have the smell of pipe tobacco, 10 year old slippers, and incontinent collies)...

If it's a Coupe it'll have a huge base box in the boot, smell of rum and squeak like a got pig around the tailgate...

And....If it's a Saloon, It'll be a left hooker...

Like it - could the saloon be the perfect compromise in the S2 war of words in the Coupe vs Avant owners. Must say I would love an S2 saloon... It would actually be a great project to convert a 20V quattro saloon.

Well my son is now just over 3 and he still goes in my S2 every day, in a child seat, in the back, and has done since he was born.

We have been around France on holiday in the S2 (with a baby) and all around this country too. I also use it as a daily commuter, making regular trips around Blighty and occasional trips to Belgium, France and Germany etc.

Finally, the boot is exactly the same size as a garden cuttings back and therefore the S2 gets to play round the country lanes every weekend on the way to and from the tip, with the wife thinking that I am just doing my husband's duty without complaining

S2 Sedan (ABY, 6 speed) - 306 built.

And I believe all were LHD, as it is stated that none were sold new in the UK.
