squeeling noise under boost

just had my homefry fitted which is good,now boosting to 1.4 bar. Replaced all hoses but still cant seem to find this noise. The car feels breathless at the top end but doesnt seem to loose boost.
Put the boot in and a an airhorn type noise cuts in.Could it be fuel pump?On idle the pump does whine.

sure you got the new pipes on and the clips done up tight? is it running rich? Sounds like a boost leak to me

ok,getting really feked off now!!
Replaced all pipes,including the small ones at the back and the turbo,checked all the pipes to ecu etc. Done the Mark H mod.Car boosts to 1.4 and holds it. Get over 4000rpm and it sounds like a kemworth with the airhorns playing.
Any ideas?

Grease the threads on all the jubillee clips and tighten again?

doh i put new ones on!! I noticed today that the bottom pully is fouling the rs2 IC. You'd of thought it that,but the noise seems to be coming from the back of the engine bay,or nr the turbo.

Have you checked the little one way valve at the back of the head in the PCV pipe? Its hidden inside where a thick and thin pipe join (20mm and 8mm at a guess).

ive looked at it but havent taken it off to properly check. Would that be a possibility? Had it all blocked off on my old 3b where the PCV was knackered

Could be blocked up cats i suppose. Never known it on an S2 but seen it on other metal. Usual symptom is bit gutless at top end and exhaust backpreasure escaping from a joint pre cat. Just a thought as you seem to have checked most other things. This is only a theory so please don't go scrapping your cats before checking them out. The cars i have seen this on before were mostly diesel too but you never know.

When did the noise start?.........The noise only happens when it is underload and boosting ? and have you connected the DV the right way round?

Could well be the Manifold > Turbo or Turbo > downpipe gaskets if my SX is anything to go by

mine began with a faint blowing, then prgressed to a full-on banshee scream on full boost. Still made the full 15 psi I was running and didn't really affect performance.... your symptoms sound similar. Ball ache of a job though i'd imagine

Yeah like that theory too. the additional pressure could be forcing past the DV.

when the car was on the ramp yesterday i noticed that the bottom pully was rubbing the rs2 IC.....DOH!!
Put a stock one on today and back to full power!!
Anybody know how much to do a re-core?
