Turbo still getting red hot!!! WHY???

I have a 3B which has been almost completely RS2'ed and MRC RS2 3B chips.

Car idles perfect! Rock steady at 900 RPMS. Goes like a Bat-out-of-hell at first and then gets sluggish as the temp gauge rises past 90c. I always feel the car is getting slowed down when just cruising in 5th. I feel as though the car is draging an anchor and I have to downshift!!! And No the Parking brake is NOT on Jamo!!!

Also an annoying exhaust "harmonic" drone gets louder as the car gets to this hotter temp.

I get back from my first drive last night and the turbo is glowing faintly, but still glowing!!! Not nearly as bad a few weeks ago before I received the remap chips from Minhea. Last time the damn thing looked like freaking LAVA on a volcano!!

Can anyone tell me what may be wrong???!!!!

Here is a list of what my car has....

    3B block and internals
    RS2 IM
    RS2 EM
    RS2 TURBO
    RS2 MAFS
    RS2 034 CLONE INJECTORS
    RS2 INTERCOOLER
    RS2 FPR and RAIL
    MRC RS2/3b remap
7A exhaust cam and stock 3B intake cam
    Samco Boost set

    THanks in advance to all!!!

    Regards
    joe

I would check all hose connections as it sounds like the turbo is over compensating for boost leak

I thin you need an EGT and wideband on the car to see what these values are

Exhaust gas temperature, your car could be running lean so your EGT is high.

How do I richen the gas mixture? Can Mihnea do this with the chips?

Yes he can, but the problem could be your fuel supply, i.e fuel pump or injectors

                    fuel

How do I find out if either of those parts are OK?

If turbo is running too hot it should mean it works harder then it's supposed to. So I would check boost first and see if there is a leak that's forcing the turbo to overspin. What are your boost levels?

If the mixture is too lean, then the exhaust manifold tends to get red hot due to excessive exhaust temperatures.

                        My gas MPG....

MPG on the trip computer is very low. Like 15 MPG when driving and only 29 MPG when at idle during a stop light.

It seems she is sucking up gas.

One strange thing is that while driving the car will "hiccup" The annoying exhaust noise will COMPLETELY go SILENT. It seems like the car stalled but the RPMS are still there on the gauge!!!! NO noise what-so-ever!!! No exhaust noise!!! Totally silent!!!

                        WTF!!!!

This would last a second and then the drone of the exhaust would return!!! WTF!!!

Could my bypass be messed up???? Or the Pop off valve???

Could you not get a session on a rolling road to check the fueling (mixture) is ok, and see what boost it is running etc?

Firstly, the turbo will glow after a quick drive, not a problem as long as its not incandescent.. If you pull up quick in the dark and pop the bonnet you can sometimes see the impeller still spinning
Second, do a pressure test for boost leaks
Third, make sure your engine mounts are all good and the xhaust is not sitting on the subframe or touching the floor.
Fit a new pump and filter?

Have you still got the cat's on your car and could it be possible that they might be blocked or something, i.e. once temp gets up it struggles to get the gas past them, i've heard this happen on a couple of cars before.

Best bet like the others said is either a EGT test or get it on a rolling road, you could spend loads chasing ideas/opinions when a simple RR test will sort it out or highlight the problem so you can.
