Water on the ecu help needed

I took the car to wash it , and the s u c k e r passed the pressure water near the evu box and flooded it with water , driven well till home , and when i wanted to go out , it was rough and cuting , i look back i found white cloud and a lot of fresh benzine geting out of the exhaust , i checked everything is ok , i took off the ecu cover and i see there is water on it , and dried it with air pressure , and it still the same , ill try to the hair drier now

any sugest? did it die? will i need new ecu? does it need reset with vagcom after reinstalling? any helps? anything else could be got damaged ?

    please help

    Bad news mate

    What car do you have?
These are the things I would do:
Wherer is the ECU box located on your car? under the bonnet? if so why was he washing your engine with a power washer!!!

What I would do is firstly make sure all of the plugs (and plug wells) are totally dry. Remove the plugs to check if unsure.
Check plug leads are dry, (coil/coils) depending on car

If your ecu has got wet you wil need to open it up asap and get a hairdryer drying off any moisture you can see in there.

Then you could use some electronics contact cleaner and spray any suspect contacts.
then leave it to dry in a warm atmosphere like a warm room.

Also, if its possible to leave the car in a warm/heated garage (likely in the Lebanon!) for a day or two with the bonnet open, it 'may' help to dry out remaining moisture.

    good luck

    Then

i did that , and the f**** weather now is cool , instead of hot as **** like last weeks , i am so pissed off.

i dry it with hair drier . i will go check the plugs now again.

      my car is a4 2.8 12v

why it throwing fuel from exhaust and why this white vapor is going out of exhaust? did the ecu go crazy and flood the engine?

if the water killed the ecu , will the ecu damage any other parts?

i wish if i didnt birth from this bad luck!

      thanks mate for help

      need more sugestions please.

      my week end is ruined

I would say check the plugwells for water first thing. Then make sure your coil pack are dry and ok.
use electrical contact cleaner (Im not sure if it displaces water though) on all of the contacts and remove, clean, and dry them.

Then leave them drying and disconnected (open to air) for a few hours.

Then try again and post back. It may not be as bad as you think....and could dry out in a day or two.

Do you have Vagcom? if so I would certainly run it on your car

Maybe the air filter is wet? This would stop the air going through properly and make it run rich.

I would look at getting your injectors cleaned (professionally) before replacing the ECU.....
if two injectors are not working, the car will run rough!

swap injector positions of 4 and 5 with say injectors 1 and 3..

Then vag com the car again.
If it comes back that 4 and 5 are still faulty. You can safely say it is not the injectors.

Hmm, it would be worth trying for sure. Can you borrow a known 'good' one to test your car with>?

glad to be of some help.
Are you sure your car has the immo ECU? (I think you can have the key with a chip but non immo ecu if this thread below is correct)
This seems to be a very good thread on the problem...link

I think you can fit an ECU with no immobiliser in it to your car, but if you get another ecu that has immobiliser then you will need to get your key recoded by the audi dealer..
On my old S2 the ECu was under the dash....??

but this is worth checking also..

and I could be totally barking up the wrong tree but as no one else is assisting you I will suggest it!
Could it be your power amplifiers (POS)
Try swapping the connectors around (whatever the eror ones were) and then vag com it.
