well I am waiting to hear from paul.
Story goes borrowed loaner homefried ecu fom paul, plugged it in and blooming hell what a difference, does what like it says on the tin so to speak
Well sent my ecu to get the frying treatment, got it back, plugged it back in and complete dissapointment, doesn,t seemed fried at all, more completley standard.
not just imagining it,had the loaner for a week and got a good feel for it,and the difference is very noticeble.
So fook knows what has gone wrong. All I have done to the car is change over ecus. All connections tight.just know it's not right
So until Mr Nugent surfaces I haven't got a clue.
Thats the story mate............so far.Rob

The loan ECU maybe more aggresively Mapped than the homefry chip sold to the public AFAIK.
Before stating that the chip is standard, can you get a boost gauge and see what boost you get in 4,5 and 6th gear at wide open throttle up say a hill. It should boost to 1.4 bar if it does you car has been homefried.Comment

I had a lift up to the Goodwood breakfast meet a couple of weeks back in Robs car (only about 3 mile round trip) and it felt like my S2 (when it was just homefried) that was with the loaner ecu in then. I drove the car without fries and it went really well for a standard aby. I dont believe Paul would send out a higher speced and more aggressive ecu to then send a lesser one back, doesnt make sense to me. Rob was the loaner sent out as an example of how your one would be once fried up?S2 + RS2 yep ive had a few love em... Laser red S2 avant... Brilliant black lhd RS2... Polar silver RS2... RS blau RS2... CheeRS Al

It was speculation AFAIK he has more aggressive chips that he wont sell due to increased risk.I had a lift up to the Goodwood breakfast meet a couple of weeks back in Robs car (only about 3 mile round trip) and it felt like my S2 (when it was just homefried) that was with the loaner ecu in then. Make sure the boost tube from the manifold to the ECU is not kinked or leaking.Comment

Doesn't make sense to me either. You don't go and buy a ferrari and then when its delivered its got a v6 instead of a v12I had a lift up to the Goodwood breakfast meet a couple of weeks back in Robs car (only about 3 mile round trip) and it felt like my S2 (when it was just homefried) that was with the loaner ecu in then. As far as I am concerned what is offered is what you should recieve, otherwise you are decieving the purchaser
Anyway imho the car as I stated feels nothing different than a standard car.I have read loads of reports about the affect of homefries and on more than one occaision people have stated the car pulls like a truck from 2k revs. This is what the loaner was like to drive, tons more torque and low down power.
I have checked and rechecked all the ecu pipe work and it is tight.
I am also not ruling out an electrical fault within the ecu or something similar, that could have affect the homefriesRob

Im sure there is a perfectly good explination to this, and you are not ECU less, so I would suggest awaiting Paul's reply. If paul is not answering his PM's it must mean he has no access to a PC as he is always on here. Posting "please answer my PM's" is suggesting he is ignoring you which im positive is not the case. Lets not panic here

As you said I am sure there is a perfectly good explination to this, probably something I fooked up
Just letting my so called dissapointment get the better of me that's all.
I am not suggesting paul is ignoring me,heard he is v.busy man,and probably has 100's of pm's to wade through, just thought it might help, that's all.

Well I'm back - y'all can stop talking about me now...
I sent a PM reply to Bertman... The loaner ECU is NOT any different - what would be the point of that.
My suggestion to this weirdness (given that a boost guage is not fitted) is that there is maybe a fault with that ECU - like MAP sensor or the internal tube. There is also a chance that I programmed a chip wrongly by accident. That would be very weird but these things can happen.
