He's either a scammer
or very stupid
- both would be worth more than £5k-
1 owner R32?????,
Those Alpines go for an absolute fortune( it's not the gordini tho, they had twin sidedrafts(anorak on))
A customer had brought one in for a service and tune-I couldn't even get in the car to put it on the lift- we had to get the bosses son to steer it in-they are tiny.Comment

Got a lift in a Alpine Renault once when I was hitching back from Chamonix, way back when... Only place to put the rucksack was on my lap so I couldn't see much. The bloke was a nutter, absolutely howling flat out on the Lille bypass when we got flashed by the vieux Guillaume
Best ride I ever had hitching.

No info hardly on the alpine - waiting for offers, definately a scam, if someone owned something like that in decent condition then most likely they would be a fanatic about the car so would be happy to brag/tell about the car and history/drive of it.Comment

The scam works, by you contacting him and a e-mail is sent saying "the car is out of the country and he will arrange shipping of the car (Usually from mainland Europe) the mails that I have seen all state that they need the money for a family emergency.
The **** will then ask you to bank transfer the money (yeah really) and he will ship the car to you. They usually stick something in the mail about you (the buyer) being protected by ebay's buyer rules and you money being safe. Then once the transfer is complete you have lost your dough and guess what, no car...On the VW Forums people have been posting up that they have been browsing ebay and they have seen there car up for sale....Obviously the scammer has copied the pics off the forum and put it up for sale..
The newest but thankfully most rare, is for the scammer to put up a car at a daft cheap price and arrange a meet. So for this golf you would turn upwith £5k in your back pocket. The scammer will then steal the money off you..There was a case in the paper of the Asian kid that went to buy the Z3 M-sport coupe for £3k. He turned up with his mum and sister, the scammers boxed in the car they were in, and put a knfe to the sisters neck...Took the money and scarpered..B*stards...
So the old saying if it's too good to be true...It probably is.Comment

This is the e-mail you will get back...
Hi there,
Thank you for the email and for your interest in the ad.
I received many emails referring pick up so please understand that it is not
possible because I am out of town and the shipping company will take care of
delivery. I think that we can agree at the following price: £1800. That's why
I'm offering free delivery and a refund policy. 90% of ebay seller's don't
offer this refund policy so once you pay for your item you don't have the
possibility to request a refund if you are not happy with your purchase. I can't stay
online now because I am very busy so please tell me your decision. In case you
would like to close the deal to start the process I will need your full name
and address for shipping:
eBay user ID:
First name:
Last name:
Address:
City:
Zip Code:
Country:
After that ebay will contact you via email and suggest you how I can be paid
in order to be under the eBay Buyer Protection Program (probably they'll chose
a wire transfer because my paypal account is currently pending due to the
recent change of my bank account and it needs some time for clearing)!
I would prefer to know your decision as soon as possible and it is not a
problem if you decline the deal now because I was contacted by others interested
to buy this car.
Have to go now...will check my email later.
Yours Sincerley
Scamming Mother Fukker..
Telling you it really boils my piss....
