Earlier this evening i was driving towards a local town ,familiar duel carriageways nice and quiet the cars running lovely being cool and damp,anyway exiting the first roundabout a BMW joins from the left with a little speed,i thought mmm ill see what hes
got like you do.Floor it ,WOT 2nd 3rd brake roundabout left right left slide ,2nd 3rd brake,
the bmws getting smaller in the mirror ,roundabout ,left ,slide 2nd 3rd 4th ,the bmw is
really trying but cant keep up,rear drive and its damp .He then puts his blue lights on in the grill.**** im going to jail.

This was a real brown trouser moment luckily he wasnt a traffic cop and no camera so he gave me 3 points and a fine .
Im not bragging about this but i feel so lucky for being so stupid ,but when you get into the zone ..he did comment on how is traction control was working overtime and
how the quattro was doing its thing .The BM was a 330d respect.

We all drive fast, but there is a time and place for it, and a 40 limit isnt it surely.... I think you are lucky to not be looking at a ban for being twice over the limit?!

To be fair, there are some bloody stupid limits around.. anyone who knows the A610 towards Ikea off J26 of the M1 will know what I mean. Dual carriageway and 40mph...

Still I don't know the circumstances and (just about) the only time I'll ever speed will be in NSL areas or on motorways.

Thats the right thing to do, you should never argue your word against theirs as you will lose almost everytime and will be done for perverting the course of justice when found guilty.

I know what you mean Andy, you have to have your wits about you at all times. There are times when I have been close to the long arm of the law before...

You are doing the right thing to take the punishment on the chin and move on.

I would edit / delete this thread and be more careful in the future, (which I am sure you will)

Some of the speed limits in areas are a bit stuffed up i've seen 5mph, 15mph and one 13mph before.

You was lucky, i've been caught 3 times for speeding and each time I was close to loosing my licence and that was before I got the s2 (admit one was still a quattro)
