The dark side never leaves you...

Just thought you guys would be rather amused to hear that since "going native" and getting a sensible A4 Avant, the lure of the Dark Side has proved far too hard to resist.

My 3.0V6 quattro is now Mihnea re-mapped for some more oomph, and I've swapped in an RS4 rear anti-roll bar for some more fun in the bendy stuff!!

The RS4 RARB was a huge piece of kit compared to even the uprated Whiteline RARB for the S2 Coupe - I guess that's just testament to how much heavier the B6 A4 chassis is? Has done the trick though, far less understeer and faster turn in, lovely.

Now all I need is some nice phat 19"s and some RS-spec brakes, and then a supercharger, and some coil-overs......

It's quick, but not "kick in the back fast" like with a mapped S2. Certainly a more relaxed style of driving though. Put the two side-by-side and the S2 would eat it for breakfast I'm sure.

We can put that to the test when it comes back from the garage after being resprayed! (all being good it might be going into the garage on monday and then it will be with them for 2 weeks!).

Ok back to the topic, I'm chuffed it has improved the handling so much, it just shows that some mods, however small can be very worthwhile.

You probably get better MPG than me, especially when pushing on abit!

Hopefully I'll get to the petrol station before you though! :mischeif:

Actually, I only managed 270 miles from my last tank, which is pretty much as bad as the S2 days

Yep, 65 litres. That's a heck of a lot of ultra-urban trips stuck in traffic, crummy short journies in the locality and one or two Mihnea-red-line blats. Not ideal! I've had over 450 out of a tank on a long m-way cruise though which is something I never got anywhere near with the S2. This car seems much more sensitive to the way it's driven and in what sort of traffic cycle than the S2 ever was.

I managed to drive to cornwall on half a tank of fuel which I was pretty impressed with!
