Anyone here ever changed the fuel pump in their B5? The pump output has a Y pipe on it, one arm of the Y goes via the check valve to the feed outlet, where does the other arm go? I have a spare spigot on the return piping in the tank but this seems counter intuitive, why route the pump output back to the return pipe?
I have tried it plugged in there and the car doesn’t run.
The new pump runs fine on the bench.
The old one needed a bang with a mallet to start up and then ran slow and noisy.
