  • Rs4 B5 Tfsi conversion kit.

I'm looking to replace the icms and oil coils on my rs4. I'm looking for a complete kit eg all wiring 6 coils and the adaptor plates.
Also do I need different plugs. I'm just doing a few bits to future proof the car plus I get a very occasional lumpy idle. I understand the conversion does wonders..
Anyone point me in direction of where to purchase the kit. All sites are American..

I'm sure there was someone on here that was selling tfsi looms and adaptor plates for the B5.

It's the tax that puts me off buying from America.
Newsh have you done this on your rs4??

The 034 kit costs £150 more than the Norbitron kit. You can get the 034 kit directly from WOT motorsports without the import anyway and they normal have stock.

BTW these coils have different dwell times ideally you should get the ecu changed to suit. most people don't though

Jamo is it something you have done / recommend.
I won't bother with the 034 one as it is overpriced.
Also will the plastic cam cover fit afterwards?
                  Do I need different plugs?
And lastly who.do you know that can adjust dwell timing? Many thanks steven.

It's not something i've done yet, I've changed my opinion on them, I had planned it but MRC are baffled by the popularity as they say these coils are not as good as the oem rs4 ones! the main benefit is the replacement of the icms which is why I would like to get convert.

any good tuner should be able to change the dwell, viper for instance.

I think its something only to do if your original coils are on the way out

Think of it like this, how many has had to change their ignigtion coils and ICMs on B5 S4/RS4? I've not seen many out through the forums had to do it. I swapped one coil on the S4 I had because an previous owner overtightened on of the bolts so the coil body cracked. Had no ignition problems, but a bit moist down the sparkplug well so I changed it incase it would cause future problems.

Mine runs fine at 90,000 miles now, all original coils and pos.

I'm convinced I'll leave it alone. I suspect the occasional rough idle is the egt sensor on bank 2.. Thanks for the advice guys.
