  • Ur S6 replacement wings

Both the wings on my ur s6 avant need replacement . I have done an extensive search for replacements with no luck . I have seen some fibreglass replacements ,but I am not sure how they fit . My question is has anyone fitted fibreglass wings to there car . If so how good /bad are they .
the only other possible option is to have mine repaired .
there are A6 wings available which I know are different where they meet the bumper , also they don’t have flared arches, but I am wondering if they bolt on and can be fettled .

If it were me I would get them repaired. Are you anywhere near Banbury? Ashley Grant will do a good job.

Well, unless you know a good fabricator near you, it's worth the drive. I took my Ur to him all the way from West Wales. He did a fantastic job 're making my wings front and back and most of the rest of the car as well.

I've found an offside C4 wing in my stash that I didn't know I had, unfortunately it's four years in storage have not been kind to it and's rotted through in couple of spots around the arch. You can have it for the cost of postage plus perhaps a token donation if it's of any use to cut up for repair sections, will post a couple of pic's in moment.

Yeah, I thought so to, sorry I can't help.

I'd consider Dave's advice given the state of your wings.

I'm quite sure normal C4 A6 wings would bolt straight on, but you'll have some sort of issue to contend with were they meet the bumper as well as them being totally unoriginal.

Hi kit thanks for the advise . I think it is the route I will take and try and get them repaired . I guess I will have to take them of in order to do that .
                  regards

Morning Lou, no problem. Wish I could be more help with the parts you wanted, I do have that one tiny piece of middle trim that goes on the rear quarter but that's it, if you'd like that drop me a PM.

You'll certainly have to remove the wings to get them repaired by whoever does it. Though I would go with Dave's recommendation, people that skilled are hard to find.

The other problem with fitting normal C4 wings that occurred to me was the arch liners also wouldn't fit properly and would probably require trimming back or change for stock ones. And I do feel it would be a pity to detract from the car's originality.

I seem to remember that Mark (Vorsprung Durch Technik?) had a pair of wings for one of these..
Haven’t seen him on here for a while!
