Before my first and recent post on this forum entitled "Sudden Failure" I had no other major failures for many years. Now, while the car was in the shop the mechanic has notice a leak between the transmission and the engine block. The engine involved is an AAN and the trasmission is a factory 5 speed quattro. I can't help but wonder if the rough idling and attempts to bring the car into the shop with such low power and running so roughtly shook something loose. Does anyone have any experience with this problem and how best to address it?

As above almost certainly the outlet on the back of head, very common problem. Try and get alloy replacement as it will last forever, the one Newsh has posted pic's of looks very good quality.1989 B3 2.0 3A 80 quattro... Budget 1.8T Project.

Check the heater hoses where they go through the bulkhead too, back of the engine at the top of the firewall in the middle. There's a bleed screw that can drip.
