  • Hall sensor / Distributor CAP early AAN

This is so dumb but I can't find what I'm looking for so I'm hoping this place knows!

So I'm looking for the cap/top of a early AAN hall sensor / distributor.
No site seems to list the AAN in their parts-catalogue so I cant find the partsnumber to buy a new one.

Maybe someone know? Or knows of an alternative to cap of a distributor housing

AAN is an Audi 100 Avant Quattro, I just tried to look it up in 7Zap but it's broken, I guess the Ruskies have cut us off..

I believe these went NLA a long time ago. You could try sourcing a second hand unit and refurbishing it.
          See here for details: http://12v.org/urs/ReplacementOfTheH...istributor.pdf

Alternatively, the link below is an aftermarket replacement part although very expensive.

Thanks for that, been patiently waiting for 7zap to sort itself out.

The Tuna Can dizzy is a half way stage between distributor and full five coil setup.
The engine got five coils on plugs but the hall sensor stayed in the dizzy body with a blank cover replacing the HT leads.

(This is how my 3B runs after the pin swap and converting to 5 coils)

So this is/was what I'm looking for. Just the black cap/cover.

I have converted a MC to EFI and I'm using the stock distributor as a camsync. Just as the early AAN's did as described above.
But now I have an openly spinning rotorshaft sticking out the side of my engine which doesn't seem like the best design

I just needed something to block it off and remembered the AAN and thought that if I had the number I could get a hold of one, but I guess I was being too optimistic...

Also this was great, 7zap is missing way to much lately

I have a carbon cover on my 3B, can't remember where I got it from though! Maybe email 034 motorsport see if they can help.

Could one be made using an old dissy cap cut off combined with a disc of plastic cut to shape and plastic welded every 90 degrees along with some epoxy to make 100% sure it doesn't come apart? You could even give it couple of coats of black spray paint to make it look nice.

For the curious, the solution became a leftover hose-clamp tacked to a piece of exhaust-pipe with a lid...
Not bad for 0$ I'd say
