Does anyone know of a specialist up here North o' the Border who could sort out the ridiculous front suspension in my old S6?!
I got Eibach springs front and rear and Bilstein shock absorbers but the front clearly sits higher than the rear. We have discussed this elsewhere on the forum but it's clear that Eibach cannot supply springs that allow the car to sit correctly. I initially had the S6 springs fitted which didn't lower the front end at all, whereas the rear end sat perfectly and still does.
I complained to the UK dealer that the S6 springs were not lowering the front end of the car at all and were likely made for the V8 and not the 5 pot, hence the lack of lowering. I was then supplied the urS4 front springs, which are meant for the 5 pot. After fitting, the front end was then marginally lower by about an inch, but still the arch gap looks cavernous in comparison to the rear. There is approximately a 1" arch gap (perfect) on the rear and around a 2 1/4" gap on the front.
I have yet to see an S6 which sits level and as you will see from John's recent photos of my S6 and Mike's, the difference between front and rear is very evident. I have long given up with the Eibach supplier as I was getting nowhere in spite of photographic evidence that there clearly is an issue here. Look at John's RS2 - it sits perfectly..

Not surprisingly, the S6 had an even stance when new - I have no idea what happens to them during the course of their lives, but clearly after market springs have a lot to do with it. Here's the original sales brochure - they all sit nice and low and even >

So, in short, I need someone who specializes in suspension up here to take my car and sort it properly - the mail order route is not an option any longer!
Many thanks,
Craig
