Hi, I'm looking for an rs2, I've already seen some in "good shape" (needs some minor things, keep it real it's a car with almost 20 years so...) and seen others that need complete build/rebuild so the question is, should I bought a complete one needing some restoring or buy a shell and start building it according to what I want... The question that goes on my mind is, it's worth to build one from shell (money/time to ratio) or buy a complete one and made the "some restoring"? After seeing this tread my mind goes a little further, why not make a cabrio according to rs2 specs (engine/transmission/gearbox/brakes/wheels). Due to hi amounts of cash the people that have the rs2 ask for them (the cheapest I've seen was about 7500€ and over 200k KM) comparing to cabrio's, put this I was wondering why not go for a cabrio, then I've seen this tread and remember to ask if what you did can be done with a coupé quattro shell.

Greetings.
Ok so to build a Quattro cab in the same way as my one has been built you will need a cab ( obviously ) and the entire rear floor pan from a Quattro coupe and be prepared for an awful lot of time spent cutting and welding the two together. My one wasn't built by me but a guy called Kim Collins and at same time this one was being built he built one for himself that was running full RS2 spec, so yes it can be done, but in all honesty when you look at the costs involved you would be cheaper buying a running genuine RS2, plus the RS2 will always retain a high resale value whereas an RS2 cab will only ever appeal to a select few..
Hope that helps
